Yeah basically that, A lot of people are expecting people to QQ about Sion if he actually sees some play with the release of MZ Sion, now I'm not expecting Sion to get nerfed just because of a skin... But all these posts are kinda getting me nervous, so just to be sure, you guys don't think Sion's overwhelming or anything, right? Just to be sure :P -A Sion main summoner 31

Horrendously weak.

He's doing pretty well right now. Apparently in Korea, he's a top pick.

I basically just wanna know what Riot's balance team thinks about him, the thought of him getting nerfed again is making me sad summoner 31

I doubt he'll get nerfed any more. He was already nerfed on his W and E, his strongest and easiest spells to land.

Uh oh.

I hope they fix the hitbox animation on his q. it always gets me because you will see that you're clearly out of the red mark thing. And it still ends up hitting you

His kit kind of runs in the wrong direction. I wouldn't mind him seeing tweaks, but straight up nerfs or buffs won't improve his situation.

What do you mean "in the wrong direction" ?

He has a low base health and too much of his power budget in his [Q]. It already feels awkward seeing a "juggernaut" take a moment to pause and jack-hammer an ability, but for that very same ability to be his most important tool in a fight isn't good.

Oh I see. In that sense, yes its not the best kit right now, but I think he really works if your team is able to do damage.

I'm not saying it doesn't work, I'm saying it's not meeting it's full potential.

Yes you're right. The passive feels too niche and weak right now, and his abilities feel like there's too much counter play. Still, much better than old sion.

SO much better.

I also play a lot of Sion. I think his kit is fundamentally very strong, but the meta isn't great for him right now. A lot of the popular carries are either too long range (Lux, Caitlyn) or too mobile (zed/lucian/leblanc/ezreal) to hit with his crowd control.

There are also a lot of popular bruisers right now. And a lot of damage champions are building sort of heavy. Sion has never matched up well against bruisers. He does better against teams that are either all squishy, or running one or two dedicated tanks with a squishy backline.

Finally, there are a few individual champs who are relatively popular right now who give him a very hard time. Vayne, especially. Also Kog.

Tanks are definitely strong at the moment. But most of the tanks that are seeing consistent play share one thing in common: reliability. Naut and Malphite both have much more reliable CC/initiation. Which is more valuable against a very slippery backline.

I don't know, that's what I've noticed at least. But maybe I'm not playing him right or something. I never would have expected Naut to become such a top pick. maybe Sion is in store for the same thing.
