How to I convince my team to not ff?

Lost 4 games today because my team decided to surrender when we could have stalled out and won. We were only like 10 kills down and their team comp was crap scaling. Even when I say "dont give up we got this", they still try to ff.

More often than not, it's by getting an early lead. Getting an early lead on one character who scales well often means that you have a chance no matter what, and some people will recognize that. I remember a game where I was playing Twitch bot lane with a Nami support. The Nami initially hovered Twitch support, but I wanted to play my main and this person gave him to me. However, when we got in-game, this Nami started legitimately inting. She did not want to be in that game. However, she took long enough for the enemy bot lane to kill that I was able to get fully stacked passive and a double kill on their bot lane. Next time she came to lane, it happened again, and again. She finally stopped inting and starting playing seriously when I was 8/0. At that point, I was so fed that even this Nami, who seriously didn't want to be in that game to the point where she was inting at level 1, started playing legitimately seriously and trying to win. Why? She saw an opportunity to win. If anyone sees any chance that you can carry, they will play seriously. Most of the time, however, lower tier players can't see a way to win if nobody on their team has a lead, even if the enemy team doesn't scale anywhere near to as well as theirs.

I had another game that I want to use as an example of something probably a bit more relevant. I was playing Kha'Zix mid lane. I got a huge early lead against my lane opponent, but despite my lead, the rest of my team was feeding to the point where we were 15,000 gold down at 20 minutes. There was a point where we had a surrender vote be 3/1 and we were able to convince the 5th player that the enemy team was starting to throw after a couple of teamfights where the enemy team played poorly and let me get to their carries. The game went to 75 minutes, but I was able to hard carry that game. After we won teamfights played poorly by the enemy team, I would make a bunch of calls that would give us different objectives (typically a turret + a dragon or 2 turrets). If you can get strong enough to win teamfights for your team and get said teamfights to happen, you can carry your team in any game so long as you take an objective afterward.

Ugh I had a game like that the other night. 82 minutes in and I was 26-0 as Fizz doing literally all the work until finally the team did -something- other than die and split with me to win. It does seem to be if you can get a team that's ahead to make some really boneheaded moves, they get too confident and your team gets the hope they need to try again. I like calling shots, but a lot of people never listen no matter what mastery level you are or how many games you win. When I was absolutely awful my first year I always wanted to carry, though, to make up for all the times I had to be carried so I'm grateful now I can return the favor.

One thing you have to remember is that if three people do NOT want to be in the game, being part of two no votes only guarantees they will AFK, feed, or just do absolutely nothing. IF they cannot change their minds, they will want out of the game and do anything to ensure it, depending on how they play. I've been part of a few games where it was obviously unwinnable given the difference in skill between the teams, and my team refused to give up when they -really- should have (2 mid turrets gone in 20 mins, etc) but chose to fight stupidly.

Try and rally them, try and get enough kills to show they can be beaten, but in the end if three people won't help this is not something you can stop and frankly, if they want out of the game badly enough they will either do little to help or at worst feed and/or purposely AFK. Its a team game and if you have 2 or 3 people vs 5, the 5 will almost always win.

Think about it this way - What you see from their play vs the enemy team - do you believe they can hold up their end? Do you think the enemy is vulnerable? If you can't say yes to either of those questions its time to call it a game.

Insult their manhood and tell them your girlfriend and her best friend are on the other team. Manly pride will prevent them from surrendering guaranteed lol.
