when did poppy become a jungler?

Poppy's always been most favorable as a jungler. She has issues in lane because she's incredibly mana hungry with zero ranged abilities and pretty weak basic attack damage in the early game. The jungle gives her breathing room to farm without constantly dealing with an enemy champion. Once she gets a foothold in the game is when she becomes utterly terrifying.

Basically, all her issues revolve around early Riot design choices, and will be one of the last to be addressed; like Sion before her, it will likely be a full relaunch. Honestly, I'm more surprised you found someone playing a Poppy. I haven't seen a Poppy player in over a year.

Poppy is the most broken champ in the game. Mid and late game, she combines the best qualities of a tank and an assassin to become a monster that shrugs off big hits and kills squishies in literally two hits. Her early game is trash, but I jungle with her to bypass that nonsense and I usually get a silly amount of multikills later on in the game as a result. I got tired of watching the other top load up on a farm like a fat chick with brownies until i lose lane, so i can roam to possibly * get kills.

its probably public knowledge but, a poppy gank can be like a blitz grab if done right. or can be a wall stun. later on you can be an opportunist with your ult noone is safe hiding under tower with low health without shields or zhonyas ect.

because the source of poppy's power is based on engaging with an ult or taking down low health targets. jungle makes it possible for her to bide her time until she is ready.

I've never played jungle until like a month ago?, and i've never played it with a champ other than poppy. there are probably better champs to take in the jungle.

Some one actually Played her in the Challenger Series. And snowballed, HARD. She was in top lane, which give you more Gold Honestly. But her Opponent was Mundo, She basically could not be bullied out of lane by a Mundo.
