Riot you gotta explain this matchmaking

You just placed me, a gold 4 player, with a jungler who is placed bronze 1 in his placements.

This man didn't know how the game works. Come on Riot, I thought new people were being placed in iron 4 and had to start a fresh climb. What happened? You gotta explain how this shit works.

Id almost bet $ if I look into this im gonna find duoing making a problem somewhere.

Edit. Yep. The hec duos with Thresh. They both look like they play for kills rather then to win, both new this season accounts, likely smurfs. You duoed with your silver hommie and lost 9 out of 10 games. Edit: (This impacts your accounts MMR negatively even if your not qued with that guy.)

I try to be helpful and accurate when I do stuff like this. Going of Op.GG it says that every player in that match has been in multiple matches at silver MMR. S3-S2 mostly. Your last 5 for example are all at s2 for the match average.

Tiers are a distraction and are not used to build games. Why is your MMR under Gold? 20G 3W 17L is your recent ranked history.

I don't mind silver players, it's just confusing when you get someone who did 2 placements and it says they're bronze 1. They didn't do 10, and even if they did 10, gold and bronze should never be together.

I looked into it. He is duo with someone with decent MMR (for that level) and your MMR is awful cause your winrate is bad.

So the matchmaking was fine.

Problem solved.

How is it that you can see what someone's MMR is? Because unless I'm missing something huge Riot revoked all visibility into MMR, and W/L doesnt directly translate into MMR.

Case in point, I have two accounts, and last year my account with the higher MMR actually had a negative win rate, while my account with better win rate had a lower MMR, with both accounts having roughly the same number of games played.

Wins and Loss rate doesnt directly to translate to MMR, and unless you are the freaking Gandalf of the matchmaker system, I would venture to say that you might not know what the hell it is you are talking about.

Used to be off Op.GG MMR for player estimations. That got changed this season but OP.GG has a match averaged MMR. When you consistently see a division average used in a players history most folks use that as a rule of thumb for what MMR MM is putting that account into.

The Op has been doing new things and its hurting his win %. he was 2-18 last 20 ranked when he made this post.

You can check to also see the average division people are playing on to estimate MMR. The player plays with silver 3 frequently so his MMR is likely silver 3. If he played against a b1 duo with a silver 2 who frequently plays with silver 2+ the averaged mmr would be silver 3. Which is OPs estimated MMR.

This is the very reason why I don't play ranked.

Normals are the same sh shame. The moment you have more unbalanced games than balanced ones, something is very wrong.

The fact that they haven't fixed anything after years means something even worse.

I had the same problem, except I had a bronze 1 ADC and and the enemy team had a gold 3 adc. I was gold 3 myself, and the skill difference was huge.

Gold Is Low Elo.

It happens

Unranked accounts get placed into bronze 1-3. The guy could have also gotten lucky in placements.

Iron 4 to Iron 1 is like 3% of the player base. You legit have to try to get there

I have not had an even game in over 2 month. Just one sided stomps win or lose. The matchmaking is so bad it actually feels like I'm playing coin flip simulator 2019. Riot continues to show me that they don't care about their player base at all. Just make sure to keep releasing more champs and skins while the game continues to stay broken.

Let me explain it to you. League, the past 2 seasons has a awful matchmaking, right? Well, is it a coincidence that those 2 past seasons have been the worst seasons in the history of League? Is it a coincidence that everyone hated those 2 seasons? I don't think so. LoL is losing it's playerbase, the players that actually cared about the game and instead decided to focus on the new players that come into League and that is why matchmaking is awful. Older players are leaving, which means you will see less people at lvl 100 for example in your silver, gold, platinum and above games which leads us to the conclusion that you will get more lvl 40 players who don't even have a lvl 7 champ yet (I am not talking about smurfs here, just to be clear) and got duoed to platinum (happened to me the last game I played support). There is nothing wrong with the matchmaking algorithm, if the game itself changes, the real playerbase will return and I hoped that would happen someday but instead, Riot creates my hero academia anime skins and a damned anime kat champion and hopes that the playerbase will like it and forget about the gameplay (lets not forget that riot was sold to a chinese company so what to expect...)

I was a high silver low gold last season. (Now climbed back to gold) I was placed bronze 3. That's how they said the now system would work dude. They were going to place you significantly lower than you started. It's a skill check for climbing.
