Can we have a discussion about bot lane?

is there anyone here that actually LIKES how bot lane is set up to work? meaning a support babysitting a cary for 20+ mins? im not talking about role specifics either, im talking about the lane itself in general. you may like to pick Kalista ADC, but you hate the lane and having to depend on a support untill you get your items or having the lane constantly camped because its next to drag. im also not talking about hating it because you are a support who has a bad Tristana that jumps 1v2 into tower every 2 mins. im talking specifically about the lane.

personally i cant stand it. the lane is too snowbally not because the enemy carry gets ahead, but because your own carry and support get so far behind. since the lane is a shared exp lane, if you fall behind as a ADC it is extremly hard to catch back up. and with champions like Yasuo and Ekko running around solo farming while behind as a carry is near impossible assuming they have map awareness and prevent you from solo farming.

as Evelynn if i see a carry thats behind trying to farm, its just free kill after free kill. tops usually dont have that problem because a tank will always fulfill his job as a tank no matter what. the lane also rarely gets camped. even with herald around it still gets less action than bot lane simply because ennough dragons are game winning and herald is more of a selfish buff for 1 player. mid lane also doesnt really have problems catching back up unless you pick an extremely immobile mage. mid lane is just very safe as long as you are warding correctly. i will say tho that it is another key lane simply because thats where teamfights happen the most as it gives you access to both baron and drags.

As a support main, the one thing that deters me from ADCing is the fact that I'm fully dependent upon another person's presence just to be able to farm. In general, I enjoy teamwork and a well earned victory. However, I hate that if the support is not present, I cannot do anything but sit under my turret, waiting for minions to come close enough to my tower that I won't die to the Thresh hook or the Karma Q.

The whole concept of using a champion that literally cannot survive on their own without someone else there, but also cannot be used in any other role is infuriating. My enjoyment (as an ADC) is determined by whether or not my support AFKs, and on top of that is capable of warding and protecting me.

Support for me is much more enjoyable, because I feel more in control of the flow so-to-speak. I ensure my ADC can farm, I ward for myself and my teammates, and I can even set up kills for them! I'm not a glass cannon either!

Hmmm.... If the support leaves their partner to solo vs 2 then their solo partner will get more experience. Of course they have to play safe and the ADCs are weak early... I dunno.

Oh I'm not saying at all that I'm necessarily good at playing ADCs whatsoever, I just don't enjoy wanting to be independent, but as a result, the game becoming exponentially harder due to a 2v1.

the thing is, its too easy to dive a solo ADC. if i see the support is top for some reason and there adc is alone, ill ping my bot lane and we will 3v1 dive the solo carry and take tower or drag. its never beneficial to leave the adc alone bot lane, EVEN IF the supports roam was a success. so what they got the kill top? they get nothing out of it while we get a free drag for killing the solo adc.

Well at that point I think it comes down to your team being aware of the situation and the support who whoever making the correct call.

Maybe I'd like it if Herald and Dragon shared power, and maybe if Dragon upgraded to maintain power with Baron... Have the powers be different but balanced together so a team has to decide if bot or top is more important early game. I don't know.

I think that's what they wanted with Herald. Maybe the power is comparable? I don't know.

I like botlane, and I like both the teamwork aspect, and the constant skirmish aspect.

I don't feel like the fact that someone else on your team might suck, and therefore drag you down, is a reasonable complaint about the lane. That can be true of every lane, and for every game.

Remember, the jungler is pretty much the secondary in every other lane, or tertiary in bot, and how they do impacts everyone. So does the top lane failing and having some fed guy tp on your head every time its off cd.

All the wonderful things I could do with my support character, undermined by having to babysit the entitled, impotent jerk of the team.

nothing more infuriating than hearing "your carry" from someone else on my team.
