The exhaust nerf is probaly one of the stupidest nerfs you guys have done in awhile

With how damage heavy this game is right now you nerf one of the main defenses against power creep for no reason at all. its a ridiculously stupid change. anyone that builds atk speed just laughs at it now. If you wanted to nerf it then hitting its CD or nerfing its atk speed reduction at early levels and letting it scale would be much better alternatives. now its just a anti burst summoner skill.

No it wasn't it was hilariously overloaded for so long and totally deserved everything it got.

we can at least agree that Exhaust needed some sort of nerf though right? The thing was being used as an offensive spell in a lot of cases because of the resistance reductions and movement speed reductions

It needed a nerf, but I feel like they tackled it too hard

ya, it would be better to nerf its CD OR nerf the atk speed reduction at early levels and let it scale. getting rid of it entirely was a horrible move.

It's a pretty un-interactive summoner spell that punishes you for making aggressive plays.

I take this summoner spell mid or top when they have a diver/assassin so I can just point and click on the enemy and make them useless for an important part of a teampart. It doesn't take much skill to use it.

I don't think this summoner spell is healthy whatsoever.

NONE of the summoner spells are healthy and all of them need massive overhauls, but that is besides the point. the point is exhaust was a skill used to keep hyper melee carries in check. after its SEVERE nerf there will be no real checks for champions that scale hard off of atk speed and crit.

I think its for burst to help keep the guy you're protecting alive as the support. Not to make other people useless

you are not going to "keep them alive" with exhaust when you see a MasterYi or Warwick running at your carry. they dont give a fuck about new exhaust because the atk speed and onhit alone is going to be enough to kill now.

like i said, if they really wanted to nerf it then increasing its CD would be alot better than making the skill virtually useless against anyone that isnt a burst assassin/mage, and even then its really not that effective even against them.

It still reduces their damage by 40%.

Their Qs are a good chuck of their damage, that gets reduced.

If we did a test, we could see the % of damage that was reduced just from the attack speed change alone.

For the attack speed, it kinda depends at what point of the game it is. It'd be stronger early since its going to reduce a large portion of their attack speed.

Late game it didn't do much anyways. It reduced attack speed by 30%, thats not even item 1042 item 1042 item 1042 900 gold

40% reduced damage is an absurd number. summoner 3 is still a brain dead amazing summoner spell.

30% attack speed is nothing to 40% reduced damage lmao.

Yeah I'd hope you'd be able to keep them alive, if you can't 30% attack speed wasn't much either way.

40% is not an absurd number when you realize A) it lasts 2.5 seconds and B) a decently farmed and fed Syndra is still going to anal bead a adc down to 0 even if that number was %50, and that is only on the HUGE assumption of IF you can get close enough to her and use it because she is terribly out of position.

in reality you are only going to be using exhaust on burst assassins like zed or akali.

In reality you just click it on any melee champion who dared to get in range after pushing through a rain of poke, peel, and gapclosers so that they either just die doing nothing or can never afford to go in unless you are forced to waste exhaust on someone else.

except melee adcs who build atkspeed wont give a shit because exhaust doesnt reduce atk speed anymore, and there dmg doesnt come from burst. it usually comes from onhit/true dmg so the 40% dmg reduction wont do barely anything to it

A melee carry needs to do significant damage in the very small windows they get to stick onto someone in order to be relevant with all the peels, zhonias, escapes, and everything else they have to deal with. To have their damage nuetred for 2.5 seconds right when they get into range makes them do almost nothing and then the slow just serves as an added distance they have to close again, only by this point they will be lucky to immediately run and survive.

It's especially bad for people like riven, khazix, wukong, etc. who get at least half of their damage from up front burst on their abilities and can't really survive long if their initiation gets cockblocked by exhaust.

  1. Adc gets stunned
  2. syndra walks towards your adc
  3. you walk towards syn and exhaust her

lmao I don't see that being a rare scenario. Her ult range isn't that long. Exhaust's range is 650 to her 675/750.

There's going to be alot of games with some melee assassin like champ that is diving your team. Yasuo Riven Katarina Akali Ekko Fizz Nidalee Vladimir Zed Talon Khazix Rengar Evelynn

I can't argue with a person that thinks 2.5 seconds in a team fight for any of these champs isn't long and believes Syndra is going to ult for 2k-4k damage at all stages of the game.

So I'll just end my arguement here.

you missed the point entirely, infact you missed the point so hard that you went full circle and proved my own point. very typical of people that frequent these boards. i literally just said, for the 100th time, that the only type of champions new exhaust is good against is burst assassins, its useless against ANYONE else that has sustained dmg/atk speed. exhaust was always meant to be a defensive summoner but that doesnt mean jack when it only works against 1 type of champion. THANKS for proving my point.

to further my point, kha ults once. exhaust gone, goes back in, kills adc.

Cocho1 votes

wut

Lets take one example out of that how Khazix could play around exhaust and apply it to all of them? LMAO

  1. Exhaust reduces their damage by 40%, that's a large number. The 30% attack speed didn't really matter, they were already pretty screwed. MasterYi Yasuo.

ww is a tank though, i hope you arent exhausting him (even if you are, its when he ults

Dominick Destine2 votes

I tend to agree but you will find very little support here.

The boards are a massive assassin circlejerk.

Euthenaasia1 votes

It's pretty stupid but not for these reasons. I loved exhaust for turning tanks into butter but now it's just pidgeonholing the spell to only be used on assassins. Riot has their own poor view on how this game should be played and they slowly shape this game into that vision with every patch and then pretend they don't support the meta game.

#Power creep is bad

nerfs a summoner spell that buffs damage

#wow, not this is only vs burst. What about my damage. I need more.
