I know why people are starting to complain about Rengar

Rengar is not OP or broken, but is one of those champions that has the potential to become OP or broken. Once all the currently popular champions are nerfed, Rengar will probably stand above them and will be considered OP and people will ask for nerfs to him.

People say that because his Ult leaves 0 counterplay for a carry. They see the ! but have no clue what direction he is coming from then they get instantly deleted.

True, but a lot of the time it doesn't matter because by the time you see the ! he's already on you

Well, that's all that Rengar can do, to be honest. He can't escape after he kills someone, so for Rengar, killing an ADC during a teamfight is a suicide mission. Sometimes it is well worth, sometimes it isn't.

The only problem I can find with Rengar is that all his counterplay options are very generic, there isn't anything specific to him that you can do against him. For example, Zed has some unique counterplay options that he doesn't share with most champions; Zhonya and QSS, for example. But against Rengar, revealing his invisibility, CC, and building armor is all that you can do to counterplay him. It doesn't mean that he is not balanced, though.

The problem with using vision is that seeing him coming doesn't always save you. You'd need to place the pink ward in his general direction in order to see him before he jumps on you, and even then, most champions that he deletes on contact don't have a way to stop him at 750 range.

So, basically, you need a well-placed/lucky pink ward and a tank blocking his path, which means he'd have to be ballsy and stupid to make that jump.

The basic problem with Rengar is that he's binary. Either he gets fed and completely shreds everything to bits, or he doesn't quite get the lead he needs to be anything other than annoying.

Also, at late game he can instakill anything that is not a tank or bruiser, but then he takes CC and is dead.

Speaking of which, that's why Rengar is extremely detrimental to teams that rely on one person on a team to carry.
