"Remove" all these champions which only lose by misplaying

deadlychuck··2 votes·737 views

As in massively overhaul their kits.

You want to talk about agency, these champions with low CD mobility and insane burst damage is what removes player agency. It's very easy to identify which champions these are too. It's almost always the champions which have "infinite potential".

They've been a cancer in this game for years, and the fact that you effectively lose in load screen if they have a half competent player on the right champion isn't good for the game.

Just because you suck doesn't mean Riot needs to remove champs.

You're right, which is why I'm not saying that "the champions who beat me need to be removed".

I'm saying that the champions who overwhelm significant portions of the champion pool, due to being stacked with so many mechanics, with raw power need to be gutted. A champion shouldn't have 15 positive mechanics, when you've only have 5 skills to work with.

I stopped taking this thread seriously when you mentioned "remove".

Take a downvote.

deadlychuck1 votes

You say that like i literally intend for these champions to be removed when i put it in quotes.

Hell even the first like explains i mean that the need large changes to their kits.

BeatzBoyFTW1 votes

Then call it a "rework" to avoid confusion.

At least read beyond the headline if you're going to put in your two cent into a conversation. This isn't just to you, this is a problem people do, and it's why the current social atmosphere (not talking about league anymore) has gone to hell. Headlines don't tell you shit, they're intended to get your attention by any means necessary, often through emotional outrage.

Just look up a guide on countering Riven. Don't be salty.

deadlychuck1 votes

That's a little presumptuous, i know how to counter riven, in fact i know how to counter all of the champions which i'm referring too in the OP. The problem isn't my knowledge of the game or how to play against the champions, because after 6k games you know this game inside and out.

The problem is the fact that these champions are being released now with 15 mechanics in their kit. Now there have always been exceptions with champions like nidalee and lee sin, after all they actually have 7-8 skills. However, the champions like Camille with only her 5 skills having 16 mechanics... that's where the issues occur. Their kits have so few holes that they force you to sacrifice your own agency to deal with them the only way possible. It's not a good aspect for riot to be reinforcing in the game.

Good point. We need more of these champions; Garen MasterYi Rammus Udyr. If you are salty about your laning phase play a different game. Why do people always call for nerfs over "lane bullies". God forbid you actually had to fight your opponent

deadlychuck1 votes

I don't see those you listed to be nearly as bad of a problem to the game as the ones which i'm referring, i think the armor shred on garen's E was unnecessary to the champion, but that's the biggest complaint.

I've got a question for you however. What makes a champion a lane bully? It's used across the community as a blanket term for a champion which keep control over the lane. But, if people "always call for nerfs over the lane bullies", then wouldn't it be important to understand why it's so common, is it to do with the player or the champion? Then once you've answered that question, which i'm not claiming to know the answer to myself, is the determining factor of defining a "lane bully" an objective aspect of each of their kits or one relative to the lane opponent?

DragonManSquid1 votes

"The champions I listed are all "right click champions". And a "lane bully" is.... Someone who can bully you out of lane.

[zombie-brand-mindblown] [zombie-brand-facepalm] [slayer-jinx-unamused] [slayer-jinx-wink] [slayer-jinx-catface] [zombie-brand-clap]

(is that all of the passive aggressive stickers?)

I've never had much issue with those you listed bullying me out of lane, so i'm not quite sure how you're quantifying the term "lane bully". As literally every champion can "bully you out of lane". I've done it on Aatrox to Zyra and every champion in between. It seems like less of a champion description and more of a goal. Every champion can, and would prefer, to push the enemy out of lane.

So again i ask, what differentiates a lane bully from a non-lane bully?

3TWarrior1 votes

garen shouldn't be on that list but the other three are not complained about because their kits are simple but instead because they can stat check any opponent in league so they become "avoid or die" or "win early or die" champions

Perma CC3 votes

Or you know... you could get good and stop expecting to win games vs players that are better then you. The reality is, this game wasn't designed to make skill-less people feel better about themselves. Instead of complaining why not actually try and improve your own mechanics and game knowledge.

deadlychuck1 votes

Except that these champions which I'm referring to are the ones which are stacked with so many mechanics, that significant portions of the champion pool (often the ones i prefer to play because they're also the older designs which have some degree of variability) are just overwhelmed by the disparity in champion power in the 1v1.

It has nothing to do with not knowing how to play against these champions, i know how to. It's the fact that when they fall behind, it still requires me to wait for them to make a mistake to have any chance of actually beating them, but when they're ahead they can overpower me even when they fail to successfully combo and/or land skills.

Maybe try playing some mobile games? I here "angry birds" is quite good.

Damn, these forums are full of salty as.s people. I do think he has a point but he just didn't put it out right. Some champs have significant advantage/outplay potential than others hence why they are picked by the majority and the pros! There's a reason for everything.

3TWarrior2 votes

there's also riot's business model to consider

remember release ekko? or release reksai? both were fairly much gimmicks to get people to buy the champion and both took over a month for riot to realize that the champions were indeed overpowered, even though practically the entire community had pointed it out on the alpha (since league itself is live beta...)

Why not just say "Rework" instead of "Remove"

deadlychuck1 votes

Because rework doesn't imply the significant degree of change that needs to be done to these champions.

They need to be redesigned from the ground up, effectively removing the champion from the game. Will the character still exist? Sure. The theme can be maintained, but the mechanical identity of the champions will not be the same. Similar to how the malzahar rework effectively removed the mechanical identity of the champion. He even kept all the same moves, but every part of the kit now functions fundamentally differently.

DragonManSquid1 votes

He doesn't want them reworked. He wants them crippled so no one ever plays them.

deadlychuck1 votes

Not true at all. I want them crippled to the degree that players can't rely on the champion's built in answers to overwhelm other the enemy player. You know, i'd like them to have to actually out think their opponent to get the advantage. It's more like, I would like to see their extra arm tied behind their back, because i'm stuck over here with just two.
