Yo Meddler!

A while ago, you mentioned possible changes to Lissandra and her passive, as well as adding some sort of shield. How about instead of giving her a shield, have her take reduced damage for a few seconds after clawing into a fight? Kinda solves multiple problems. Just a thought...

Also, any possible updates (visual or otherwise) for Brand? His ult can be unreliable in a 1v1 and his E is... ehh. I understand it's mostly used to start a combo, but if so... why does it cost so much? Cassiopeia needs abilities to get certain effects off, and her costs are pretty low (nothing after you build either a item 3027 or item 3003 ). But it's damage is low, scaling is low(ish) and it's range is fairly low in comparison to his other abilities. Being the glass canon that he is, I'd gladly give up damage for range, or range for damage, you get the idea. As for his ult, how about increasing the damage to the first target hit, then reducing further damage if the ult actually for some reason manages to bounce back to them, making it a little better in 1v1s and river encounters.

Just some things I've seen implemented on other champions. Hell, Cass and Annie's abilities return mana when they kill targets... why not something like that for Brand and his E? Really hope I hear from you. Thanks!

Cass has low costs because the Q is easily avoided, the W does very low damage comparably unless you actually sit in the cloud, and she has trouble sticking to a target without Rylai's. Her E is the only thing that does a ton of damage very quickly, and you need to poison them for that to work real well (even then the poison wears off). Basically, her burst is not that high until very late game compared to some other mages.

Brand, on the other hand, has a stupidly high burst with his combo that is a little easier to pull off, and his ult does A LOT of damage.

I understand how Cass works, and I find that she's actually rather easy to get kills with especially mid game. Syndra and Malz both have better single target damage then Brand. His burst was high at the time, but it nothing compared to Xerath or the old Veigar. His ult doesn't do a lot of damage, but it supposed to deal damage to the target once you get some minions ablaze. Problem is that it will sometimes bounce to minions that are out of bounce range of the champ you're trying to burn, so it goes to other minions... It's damage in comparison to Malz, Syndra's or Kat's is rather mediocre. His W + Passive is supposed to be where some of his burst damage comes from, it's just really expensive for him. As for her burt not being high until late game... level 2 and he was the ability to melt your face off with her E and some mana pots... that's why I like her :3

And I'm not saying his abilities need more damage or don't do enough damage. They're fine. His E is a little meh but I'm fine with it. But his unreliable ult... you know.

The unreliability is part of why it's allowed to do the damage it does.

Brand's ult, I believe if I remember correctly, lets you pick the first target. It then bounces between targets, prioritizing champs if the last target hit was Ablaze (which is something you can kind of control and should aim for regardless).

A single hit from his ult, at level 3, does 350 + 50% AP damage PER HIT. So on the first hit you can target, it will deal about 600 to 800 damage? This is before we get to the 8% of their health from his passive. And if it hits the same target 2 or 3 times? That's massive damage right there. This all comes at the cost of the reliability on anything but the first hit. It's designed to do extra damage in exchange for hitting less reliably.

And if you look at the total damage from one ability rotation... late game he should be doing a couple thousand damage to one target with a single ability rotation, before his "unreliable ult" even gets to the unreliable part.

My point is strengths and weaknesses you know......

The next bounce prioritizes champs, meaning if you target a champ first, it's gonna go off into minions unless the very next minion it hits is ablaze, then it'll bounce back to the champ assuming they're in range. Most people are smart enough to move away from other targets, like when Fids sends a crow at you. They have control over whether or not your ultimate does it's repeat damage unless you manage to land your 2-spell stun.

I'm talking about 1v1s, river encounters, what to do late game when your W kills the minions you were supposed to use to bounce your ult off of. What you're talking about is the most ideal situation.

And, as I stated, in the very worst case your ult is going to do a **** of damage on the first hit.

150, 250, 350 (50% ap). Look at Lissandra's ult, Zigg's ult, Kat's ult. Look at the scaling. Now come back to Brand. The point of the ult was to get it to bounce to the same target at least twice. This simply doesn't happen more than half the time. You pretend minions don't move around, champs don't move around, everyone is standing still and in perfect place for your ult to bounce. You have to be opportunistic for it to work, which is fine. I don't mind setting up for my ult, that's part of the fun of playing Brand! What I'm talking about is 1V1 ENCOUNTERS. No minions around, no other targets around. Increase the damage to the first target it, then reduce further damage done to that target by the ult.

Brand's ult in comparison to essentially every other mid champ is low. Especially the scaling. It's a multi-target/AoE. Other mages with multi-target/AoE spells scale way better. You're arguing that it can bounce to the same target to deal damage. Yes, it can. Which is why we reduce the amount of damage the ult does the next time it manages to bounce to the champ already hit by a previous bounce. This way you don't increase his overall damage in lane and he's more effective in a 1v1.

What happens so incredibly often is that I'll get the minions set up, my opponent is pushing past them, I E to set minions ablaze and ult... it will bounce to them once before going off into minions assuming the minions haven't already died from my spell spamming. In comparison to other mid champs, his ult (even after hitting the opponent multiple times) has way too many variables in order to be effective. Usually a W and an E kills the minions... meaning you really only have a small window early game to use that method to get your ult to bounce. I know this from experience.
