What having a Karthus on your team SHOULD feel like.

After looking throughout many of the Karthus related posts on the boards today I've decided to think about exactly what having a Karthus in a game is supposed to feel like. In-Game I think that Karthus is supposed to give off a feeling of Inevitability, which is why his Early game is weak, but his Late game is Monstrously good. It's why his Ult is so powerful, yet it's on a 200 Second CD to start with. It's also why I feel that with the new Assassin item as well as all the mitigation abilities currently in the game, I'm supporting the decision from other players that Karthus's ult should be able to pass through invulnerability and Spell shields.

Now, this doesn't mean everything gets passed through. Untargetability, Regular shields, and heals can still be counterplay to Karthus's ult, but passing through invulns and spell shields will provide Karthus with a Niche mechanically, and thematically, It'd give Karthus players the true feeling of inevitability that the opponent is Going to Die at some point.

Because making an ultimate that already frustrates people and makes them feel powerless even LESS counterable is healthy for the game right? How about making it so that Karthus is less reliant on his ultimate to be effective?

How many times do you see karthus in a month? he has a 200 cd ult at lvl 1 for pitiful damage? zhonyas can block it easy as hell, and champs with heals and shields, now every ad champ has a spellshield every 30 seconds, and every ap champ has a zhonyas, where does this leave karthus?

"even LESS counterable"

implying that it's not already practically fucking garbage

The fact that it's garbage now isn't an excuse to buff the ULTIMATE specifically. You could choose to buff or rework any other part of his kit and still make him more viable than he is now. An ultimate that damages you for a good chunk of your health no matter where you are is toxic by its very nature since there is little counterplay beyond itemization or what a select few champions have as inherent abilities.

The rest of his kit is fairly decent. And no, the damage on his ult is shit until heavy late. Also, I was only disagreeeing with where you were implying his ult was toxic/near uncounterable/whatever, since it is not in the slightest.
