Volibear was nerfed for having too much damage while being super tanky

Meanwhile, Chogath is even more tankier and does WAY more damage than Voli ever did

Meanwhile cho gath is a raid boss. Volibear is a bruiser.

Volibears W passive was nerfed because at the time cinderhulk made him very strong; HINT: CINDERHULK. Chocho is melee and has had his item interaction nerfed already.

I do agree that Cho Gath is a bit TOO TANKY for what he is able to do.

Must have been unBEARable for voli mains. In Cho defense he is less mobile than volibear so it is harder for him to reach a target. Or so riot thinks

Voli still does a lot of damage with his W bite.

Cho is a late game champ. Much like Nasus, he needs to build up stacks to become the raid boss he's famous for. Cho is a carry champion, and Volibear is simply not.

But if you want to really piss me off when playing against me, pick Volibear support, particularly when I pick a melee support. That over-the-shoulder throw is almost as annoying as a Blitzcrank hook.

I have a friend who's a Voli main, and we duel from time to time. I'm a Shen main and usually I'm not able to beat him in a straight up fight unless I completely kite his ult. We duelled again recently, sold our items multiple times to check different builds. He couldn't win, he could barely win when I build straight up ADC items. I can't believe how weak he currently is, if he gets to a ADC with a support there he stands no chance at all.

He needs a VGU.

Cho’gath is more Burst then sustain damage.
