Players that play ARAM aren't playing real games

Hallbuster··2 votes·992 views

Even though I don't play ranked anymore, I still do normal blind picks. I play my best, try my hardest and could probably get silver if I wanted. In fact, I'm already getting matched with silver players in normal games right now.

The fact is, ARAM teaches you nothing. Even more, It might actually make you worse considering it might encourage bad team compositions.

Why is this a post? Does it need to be?

It's a video game, you blithering paste-sniffer. If people being good and playing ARAM offends you this much, go play a different game. Or get friends, and play League with them.

Don't expect us to magically pay attention to you and make your time here worth spending.

I'm saying players shouldn't only play a single game mode, in this case, ARAM. Because they will never improve if they do so.

Right, because that's the only reason to play a video game. Is to get better.

Couldn't ever be that some of us are kicking back a few rounds to enjoy ourselves...

Anyway, that's why URF comes up on rotation. Different game mode. :^)

You mean they will never improve at norms? Because if one plays aram consistently one would hope to get better at aram at least..

Also, do you think playing norms cannot improve your aram games?

Thank you for making me piss myself laughing in the middle of the office..

Why is this a post?

This is a post because Hallbuster has a weekday quota of 4 shitposts. If he does not meet the minimum then a tiny little leprechaun will jump out of his closet with a large purple hammer made of jello and whack him until becomes so sticky he clings to his chair. If he is stuck to his chair, his mom must bring in nail polish remover and a prybar to get him out of his seat.

Hallbuster hates getting out of his seat. Therefore, he shitposts so that he can avoid the leprechaun with the jello hammer.

My posts aren't that bad.

I can't even possibly imagine what your day-to-day consists of, or has become, that your posts, your mannerisms-- your entire attitude towards League-- aren't 'that bad.'

Or maybe it's like the frog, in the boiling water, where you have no idea that things have gotten this bad.

ARAM teaches plenty, if you're willing to learn-- how to handle yourself in a pitched teamfight, not least of all. And if I thought, for even a single goddam second that the discussion would go anywhere with you, I'd have it, even if you disagreed.

But it's not disagreeing. It's just... some vortex of nice things. Everything you suggest is basically an absolute with a negative connotation.

I mean, any day now, I'm waiting for your goddam Livejournal, chock full of your existentially angsty poetry.

About how ARAM is silly and people who enjoy it are smelly poos.

Honestly man, it's pretty bad. If you stop and look at your posts that pile up downvotes, you have to stop and think maybe you are wrong and (League) society doesn't agree with you.

Maybe it would be a good time for some self reflection. And I mean this with as much encouraging constructive criticism that I have. I don't wanna beat you down, but you should go back and read your posts and see if maybe there is something you can change about your mentality. At least inasmuch as it pertains to this game.

Friend, a word of advice, don't speak in absolutes. ARAM has the potential to teach many things in fact.

  1. Champion skills
  2. Item builds
  3. Team work and communication
  4. Team fighting
  5. Thinking outside the box and adapting

4 and 5 are the big ones. ARAM is 24/7 team fighting. It makes you very quickly learn what to do and not do. It also promotes creativity in builds, as well as finding alternatives. Have an all AP team and don't want the enemy to have easy defense against you? AD Lulu, TF, Janna, Soraka, and countless others are options. Have no tank? A good number of mages do surprisingly well building tanky. Have too many adcs and not enough AP? If you have the right ones, it's not an issue. AP Ez, MF, Kogmaw are solid choices.

So no, you're not thinking this out clearly. ARAM is a wonderful place to learn many things, it just takes people to pay attention to the possibilities.

Valid also.

Players that play normal blind pick aren't playing real games. They learn nothing about how to strategically ban counter picks or how to pick into the enemy team comp. They'll never have to pick a champion they're less comfortable with because their mains got banned.

Even more, it might actually make you worse considering it might encourage you to only ever play your comfort picks or at the top of the meta.

ARAM is probably the most fun map. And it lets me try out champion abilities. Sure it won't teach me to build correctly, but I can learn spells.

Because Aram is fun. And for a alot of people that is why we play League.
