Deathfire: The more I play...

The more I realize just how bad this is on anybody not named Brand.

At the highest point for Deathfire, once you get to 700 AP, it deals 146 per poke spell. Except half that, because almost every harass spell is universally some kind of AoE. Base damage for Thunderlords is 180 (and then +70 more for scaling). You need to get off 5 solid seconds in the "best" endgame case for death fire to match thunder lords, meaning even in endgame it is only marginally better, and thunder lords is 'significantly' better at all other points in the game.

Lvl 6 all in for example: 60 Base. Lvl 6 Deathfire, if you have 100 AP, 6+20=26 per 3 seconds.

Thunderlords doesn't 'scale' as well, but the base damage alone of Thunderlords just outclasses Deathfire.

If you can't get 1 single target + single instance hit and 2 AoE hits within 30 seconds, I think you've got problems bigger than Deathfire

Or, you know, a single 3.5 second DoT, if you've got one

First, in separate instances, because the duration doesn't overlap. A full rotation combo doesn't make it last forever.

Second, in 20 seconds not 30 because Thunder is being buffed next patch.

Third, I was being 'very' generous in saying 100 AP at lvl 6 all in. It'll be more like 75 if you backed once, which is 9 seconds of death fire from 21 base to match 60.

"5 seconds to match" is only in full build end game. Pretty much the only times this is better is at full build, and right at lvl 1-2 before the base scaling kicks in for thunder lord.

Wow, it's almost as if one of these masteries benefits 'all-in' burst with powerful high CD abilities, while the other benefits repeated and consistent poke, particularly with DoTs or low-CD (usually weaker) abilities.

At level 6, after the buff that has not yet gone live, using your estimates and values, it would take only 2 applications of a 3 second DoT (with a 1.5s or greater downtime) over the course of 20s for Deathfire to outdamage Thunderlord.
