Making Boots of Swiftness/Mobility worth a Damn.

Right now I think there is a balancing problem with boots so here are some thoughts of mine:

Boots of Swiftness: Mercury's does what you'd want out of this type of Boots just better: It gives you mobility in a fight. The MS is kind of a neat stat but not as good as the MR on Mercury's and the 20% slow reduction on it is nothing compared to 35% reduction to ALL forms of CC.

Boots of Mobility: While they do give you a lot of MS outside of a fight, in the actual fight they give actually less MS than any of the other Boots. If you gank someone it is not really as beneficial since when the actual gank starts you it is way harder to really pull it off succesfully than with other boots. It even slows down junglers since the damage that camps deal make you go slower.

Mercury's: The MR on it kind of seems out of place. You usually only get it for the Tenacity Passive rather than to defend yourself against Magic Damage. This kind of sucks because you pay taxes for it when you may not really need the MR at all. It doesn't help against Monsters if you're jungling and it also is useless against an AD lane opponent. While the MR might come in handy later on you always should have your boots upgraded early-to midgame which kinda sucks.

So here my ideas to fix those problems:

Boots of Swiftness: -remove current Slow Resist Passive -add 35% Tenacity as Unique Passive

Boots of Mobility: -buff MS while taking damage to 45 from 25 -damage from monsters does not reduce your MS like it'd normally do

Mercury's: -remove Tenacity Passive -give it a Passive that reduces AOE DMG by 15%

all: -price adjustments

This way you'd make what boots to take an overall better choice and remove th problems you right now have. You do not have to pay the MR tax to get Tenacity, Boots of Mobility don't slow down your jungle and make your ganks worse, And you now have Boots that you can take when you actually want to defend yourself against magic heavy teams.

The choice and diversity you'd have with these changes would be a lot better than right now I think. You now have to choose: Do I want to defend against magic poke and wombocombo damage? - Mercury's. Do I need to defend myself against a lot of physical autohit damage? - Tabi. Do I need to have more mobility in a fight? - Boots of Swiftness. Do I need to roam the map and gank a lot? - Boots of Mobility. Right now you basically pick Mercury's in every thinkable situation unless the enemy has next to no cc or a lot of autohitting champions.

The only one I like is the change to Boots of Mobility. A reduction on AOE damage isn't really worth buying as a tank when you can get tenacity, and tenacity without other stats to back it up would feel like a waste compared to the current merc treads.

The AOE reduction would massively help against the uprising poke comps you see everywhere right now ( Azir, Kog, Corki etc. ) and also a lot against AOE wombo combos so I though it'd be a good pick in nische situations - just like Tabi right now. When it comes to Tenacity on Boots of Swiftness you shouldn't understimate MS in combination with Tenacity. It would allow better engagement and mobility within fights which a lot of champion can make use of.

Honestly I think the problem with Tenacity right now is there's just not many items that give it (item 3111 item 2138 item 3172 and item 3170 on TT) Riot could buff tanks a hell of a lot better if they made more Tenacity Items.

I would agree. If there was a way to have tenacity on a tank item other than mercs, tanks might buy something other than mercs.

They're never going to change Mobis to the way you want because that's how they used to be before they nerfed them, precisely because the tradeoff for buying mobis was too small. The whole reason you get mobis is to trade in fight mobility for out of fight mobility.

Well if the tradeoff is too small why not just make them more costy.

They were also the same price as normal boots before the nerf.
