Why do I get the feeling Viktor's item should have an active component to it?

I really like how they changed his passive back then and it also fits the theme: Viktor has no time for your primitive items, he builds his own. And that costs gold because logic. And finally upgrading the item means pretty much upgrading yourself, which is what Viktor is all about in his lore. (ALL HAIL THE GLORIOUS EVOLUTION!)

However, the final upgrade feels rather lackluster. Sure, a tiny buff for the ult and you get to upgrade your most useless basic ability (because you already upgraded the useful ones first with the first two upgrades).

And I'm actually confused why there is no active ability added to it. The Hex-Core is pretty much Viktor's main weapon. He shoots his basic attacks from there and it powers his armor as well as his other gadgets. It's an integral part to his design, but on itself it just doesn't do anything.

Active item Effect: Overclock: for the next X seconds spells cost no (or strongly reduced) mana, deal more damage, movement speed increases and cooldowns are reduced (this can go beyond the 40% border). At the end of this effect, Viktor loses 95% of his current mana and gets slowed for X seconds.

That's just one idea I had, but I think it's oddly fitting. Good thematically and it might be something that can lead to interesting decisions in the game as a powerful, but risky, move. It could be used initially by trying to achieve the overkill, or maybe as some kind of "hidden-ace" when you run oom in a situation. However, if you cannot kill your enemy within that timeframe... well, you're screwed then ^^

This would be just the version for a steroid, but of course one could put an even more complex ability on that slot. Thematically that would fit too: technology enables him to have 5 moves instead of 4. The trick would be finding something that works well witht he current kit.

Another idea that just popped up, now that I have this last resort/hidden ace mindset...

Active item effect: Techmaturgical Thaumatic-Disrupting Shock: Consumes X% of Viktor's current mana (minimum X mana) to release a shockwave that knocks enemies back and silences them for X seconds. Viktor is silenced for half the duration. The damage scales with mana consumed.

While the first one would be an offensive "All-or-Nothing" move, the other a defensive trick that however would come at a high cost in terms of mana and a self-silence (it would make sense thematically as that would be an anti-magic-EMP).

If you guys have any more ideas for that, let me know in this thread :D

They kinda do as each of them is "activated" by a different ability.

It'S still nothing really noticeable, nothing active you have to do. Sure, it makes your laser badass, but apart from that it just makes your "meh" abilities less "meh" so they are actually useful. And the buff to the ult is barely noticable from what i have seen - in most cases you barely need to move your ult anyways. You stun people, drop everything on them and hope they die. No time to move the ult, got someone to kill right here...
