Are we keeping Meditation as a mastery?

It currently serves as one of the things that allows mages of many types to not go oom, sometimes laughably quickly. I'd like to know if there will be any option in the new system to pick mana sustain up pre-game.

I suspect they might be tempted to remove it and buff mage mp regen another way so that you get to choose more "fun choices" if you get what I mean..?

Nah, they will increase the Max Mana by 50 and decrease Max Mana per level by 3 for every Caster, while Supports will get Mana Regen.

Because Mana Regen isn't a stat Mages should have. /s

You do have to sacrifice the extra dmg mastery though for it. And they getting rid of the Doran ring stacking. Its not that good as you think 1.25% is not much specially for low level.

but that would allow people to rush needlessly large items too soon, we dont want that because then they also have wave clear with it

I'm not sure if serious or sarcasm, but I'll respond as if serious and apologize if in jest.

Mages by and large don't get their early waveclear via a few extra droplets of ap, they get it via levels. An extra 30 ap, if they even spend their gold that way, usually won't significantly impact waveclear.

Doesn't item 3802 item 3010 one of these just basically get rid of almost all mana problems for every mage that is not supposed to have mana problems?

Double dorans is more common on AP champs who don't have glaring mana issues.

Which, I will point out, is going away thanks to "triple Doran's Gallo top".

i was speaking from riots point of view.

riot doesnt want to inject more mp5 than what we already have due to raw ap builds and burst being what they were, they never want that again.

i assume mp5 will still be an optional lesser stat but unlike a keystone. if at any point it gets to be too much its going byebye altogether and hurting mages will get some base mana buffs.

If there isn't mana regeneration of any kind in the new system, my main Taric might, uhh, fall on hard times, to say the least.

[zombie-nunu-bummed]

Well it wouldn't ruin him, but the mana regen helps, especially in those awful poke matchups.

I use it a lot on Nami for early game spam heals.

Implying that mages are remotely mana hungry after their first back item 1056 item 1056 / item 3802
