Can I pls get my money back for all skins I bought? Today I tried to play vs Illaoi and new Shen sucks so hard, I have no words to describe it.

On shen vs a champion who punishes people who dont know how to play againt them? "Abnormal" and "plain stupid" are different things, although i doubt most people have the common sense to tell that.

Sad thing that lolking doesn't show how game was going, it's showing only final build. I wanted to try rageblade (because I liked to play old Shen with rageblade in normals), but I lost lane right from start, so I bought rage blade second or third item just to reach goal of this game.

You guys are just an examlpe how bad this boards community. See something that is not FOTM and start calling other ppl idiots.

I was playing with rageblade before (it's normals, not ranked wtf). I wanted to try how this will work on new Shen. However I lost lane before I got any part of rageblade, so I didn't lose anything. So don't try to say that I lost because of rageblade.

What to figure out? His combo is EQW. No sustain, no range. Illaoi can poke Shen non stop and still outraiding him in melee range, because his cds are longer.

Wanna know how to fight illaoi as shen? Ya know, since shen is actually really good against her?

Bait out the Es. When she Es, EQW aorund your soul and just HIT HER.

This new shen is VERY aggressive.

Everything else is just dodging her Qs and out trading. Once she gets her ult, its probably doing to be better to E out and eat a vessal than fight her.

I mentioned already that Illaoi can simply follow Shen after he finished his 3 AA and keep attacking him. Other advices have no sense too, Illaoi is a range champion with sustain and soon or later she will hit Shen anyway and Shen can't do anythign with it. His lane phase is just not safe anymore while toplane is all about safety and farm.

You litterally got a bad match up.

Did you miss the part where i said shen was very aggressive? Hes the epitome of the "if you play like a punani, expect to the shagged like one" philosophy.

Man stop talking with me like with newbie. I know what champion can do and what can't do. Even before Shen came out many players said that his kit feels like support not toplaner. Some people thought that his lack of sustain can be compensated with new masteries, but it can't.

It was not bad match up, I can clearly image how Shen will lose vs Dari or Fiora. Shen has many problems: if he initates with EQW, then he shields just himself and it makes his W useless. So now in most situations he must peel not initiate. His Q is very very slow. So if you're coming from base and find somewhere in forest, enemies will be able to run away faster then your Q will come from base. Etc! All this things make Shen uncomfortable to play. I agreed that old Shen has bad and annoying kit, but new kit is useless and this is 10 times worse than just bad kit.

did you buy ap? did she buy magic resist? those are the 2 things that make a difference when fighting illaio with shen

there are other factors that need to be included, but your main advantage over her is that you can pop your Q and eat her hp like crazy

Didn't have time to check his new AP rates, because she zoned me from start, so I had to go tank. I wrote 3 or 4 times already that Q works great, but when my combo ends Illaoi keeps following and attacking me. In result she has full hp again and I have only half.

to be fair shen is slow. you need boots early and you only need 100 ap. if you are having trouble with your Q not doing enough damage then you need to do a few things. first check to see if you are actually doing damage. she might have armor or magic resist so watch the numbers that appear and see how much hp she's losing per swing. if you arent doing at least 1/8th of her hp then you need to run. if she does have magic resist then you need to buy liandrys. if she's got armor then get something like item 3036 if she is just killing you before you kill her then get some defensive items. if you're running out of energy or your cooldowns are too long then get an item like item 3065 depending on your focus and try to make your movements more impactful. if all else fails just avoid her on the map. she's probably too high of a level or more experienced at the game than you and you need to research your masteries and runes for better synergy.

this version of shen isnt even a week old, columbo. Also; you did 16K damage. thats NOT a lot. You also tried to S3 slapfight a champion who HEAVILY punishes mistakes.

You clearly havent fought illaoi much and you clearly dont understand what the shen rework did in the first place. How do you expect to succeed if you have no idea what youre doing? Also, illaoi restores 5% of her missing health whenever a tentacle hits her enemy. If what youre saying is true and "she restored everything" this means youre getting HIT by upwards of 5 tentacles at a time. Which is your own fault.

I seriously dont understand how you expected to do well here; youre like a brat who expects to be coddled whenever they get yelled at by their dad.
I mean... come the bloody frag on; look at your build compared to illaoi. the difference in both coherence AND usefulness of the build complementing the kit is STAGGERING.

That's true I still don't understand idea of Shen's rework. Mb he needs lot of cdr to spam his Q early, I need to check other players runes before I could say.

I tried to slapfight just to find what is limits of new Shen, it's ok to go crazy sometimes. However I found that his limits are low and he can't do much now.

I fought Illaoi before, but I never fought her before with a champions without range and sustain. I had an idea: try to trade with Illaoi, found that is just stupid. Later I found that play new Shen is just stupid, because Illaoi can zone him non-stop and he has nothing to do with it, except beg for a gank.

I don't understand, are you master of new Shen? Had many matchups with him vs Illaoi already? I told you, that Illaoi has sustain and her kit let chase Shen after his short agression, and in result this lets Illaoi to outtrade Shen.

My build was: Doran's shield -> Ruby Gem -> Cloth Armor -> Ruby Gem -> Boots -> Cloth Armor. At this moment I was already one kill and 50-60 cs behins. I took Rageblade mb as second huge item, I'm not sure, but that was when laning phase ended.

Shen sucks now, he is dead as a champion.

His win rates will fall and they will buff him, but mechanically he will still be really bad because his Q is just a gimmick to make him seem more interesting.

I don't know what they were smoking when they thought that a barrier 1.7 second dodge area was better than a 200+ shield but I don't like it.

She is a melee champion with ranged abilities. Play to the fact that you are manaless and she is not. Just farm and play reactive.

She tries to Q sidestep it or Q for shield or E out of it.

Stay in your minions and if she W you just taunt backwards, you will dodge the tentacles and taunt her deeper into the minions that she just got aggro from because her W is an AA.

If you are successful at taking minimal harrasses gj she is probably OOM or close to it and you can start engaging. She has minimal escapes and her abilities cause her to push lane. Shen taunt + JG assist is pretty much a kill or at least a back from Illaoi.

If she ults gtfo and wait it out. Try and Dodge her E because the spirit will proc another tentacle when she Ults. If she does hit you with E stay away from it so she can't use it to summon an additional Tentacle with her Ult.

Last but not least and I don't think many people know this but you can interupt her ult. When you see her jump up in the air to slam her idol to the ground taunt her. No ult and it goes on full CD.

I've been spamming Illaoi and feel I know her pretty well. The Ult interuption is really annoying and probably why she doesn't see much play in higher tiers.

Edit: I'm not too sure if her CD on her W is lowered to 2 seconds if you interupt her Ult but you can keep that in mind.

No shen is just plain bad with rework, waste of a rework imo, he was fine. He got underplayed because of high mobility and meta shifts, nothing wrong with Shen himself.

Its not two taunts, its a get in get out. If you dont have range, you need mobility; giving shen the mobility to get in, trade his Q, and then get out would be HUGE.

Lets see.... your build was; item 3124 : Not a good item on shen to begin with. item 3068 : Pretty standard item 3111 : Non upgraded, and these are arguably the worst boots in the game now. item 3742 : Again, fairly standard. Its kind of a waste on shen though.

And you SERIOUSLY expected to dodge all the illaoi skillshots?! jesus christ man no wonder you lost. The illaoi probably had boots AND phage before you even had merc treads.

Heres a tip columbo; Cooldown reduction. Its REALLY good on fighters like shen. 40%CDR your Q gets 100% uptime and your E has like an 8 second cooldown.

I honestly dont understand why you expected to beat an illaoi, a lane bully who thrives on punishing your mistakes, with a build that says "ima come fight you".

Also, that illaoi HAD 40% CDR. How the hell do you expect run from a champion with phage, upgraded boots of swiftness, AND 40% CDR?!

You shouldnt have been fighting that to begin with and should be ashamed of yourself for feeding.

I didn't begin with a Rageblade. However it was ok on old Shen, and my D1 brother was playing him this way in his elo. They had lot of cc, so this boots was ok. More mobility + tankiness is a waste on Shen?

Here is an answer on your tip: Illaoi zoned me from start, so I had to get tank items just to survive, doubt cdr could help me with this.

Why are you using this tone? I honesty don't understand why you honestly don't understand. Probably you need to think more. Every toplaner is a bully: Riven, Malph, Jayce, Liss, Wukong, J4, GP, Fiora, etc. Shen was a nice bully too, sometime too nice. Every this champion has ability to farm safe/poke/escape/sustain. Old Shen had range and sustain, so he was a safe champion - main ability to be a good toplane champion. Now he's so so. Without range he can't poke enemies, so most enemies can simply ignore him and safely farm, while he'll be in troubles. Should I say that 95% of toplaners are casters not AA champions and then don't care about his W? Yeah he'll take less damage while he's taunting enemies, but he wasn't getting a lot damage before. As solo lane champions he's much worse now. Now he can be useful only with good coordinated team, with people who will be able to use his W.
