PSA Smart warding for newer players

Don't just dump your wards randomly dont dump them in the nearest bush. Ward smart!

What i mean by this is, use map awareness then ward. And put wards in places where they will give you the most information possible.

An example of this would be when you are playing in toplane for example and your midlaner has warded the spot where the jungle entrance meets river, you can now see both the jungle entrance and river. Their jungler is spotted in bottom half od the map.

This gives you information, namely 3 things 1 Their jungler is bot. 2 You have vision on the enemy midlaner if he leaves his lane and goes to top 3 You have vision on their toplaner and your midlaner has his ward between jungle entrance and river to spot him if you fail to ping mia

At this point there is no reason for you to ward

Wait untill their jungler is mia, or the midlane ward drops before you put down your ward to provide information. In short the point is use your wards when you need the information not when you already have it.

The other part of smar warding is picking the spots to ward. Use your pink wards where they can last like botside tribush its easy to defend and it guards vs flanks for as long as you can defend it.

Also take into considerations the mobility of champions they might be able to bypass your wards so ward accordingly

Right in front of drake is usually a great wardspot because it covers drake the jungle entrance, and river itself. If you already have tribush covered with your pink then this will cover almost every path to your lane, but if they have a mobile jungler they could bypass this wardspot by walljumping into the short sidebush, in which case you might want to ward it aswell, unless you can ward in their jungle then just ward there.

Basically you want to ward the spots where players have to go past. its not needed to have every spot covered. if you spot an enemy heading your way thats often enough information, you can then play more passive and defensive.

The exception is when taking down objectives like drake or baron or sieging a turret in which case you want to cover your flanks and keep most of the immediate area warded, after you can go back and get new wards anyway.

I see too many players fail to use wards the smart way so i created this post. Hope this helps in your warding endeavors.
