Why don't we buff REAL supports for once, so we don't have to see the ubiquitous Thresh/Blitz every game? Would be nice to see Soraka, Janna, etc again in LCS.

This is literally the problem with riot overbuffing support items.

The players are so spoiled that they dont know when to stop asking for buffs.

Supports have literally the strongest itemization in the game atm.

We did see Soraka, then she got a beat down with the nerf hammer and they reverted the one mechanic that made her S tier.

Janna and Soraka can make their own plays too. Hell, probably the biggest playmaker, Bard , is an enchanter.

Huge difference between Bard and Janna/Soraka. He's a playmaker due to mobility and CC, which the other two don't offer as viable of counterparts to.

Well sorry to burst your bubble, but according to the official riot classifications, Bard is actually in the same category as Thresh and Blitz, and is not a true enchanter, instead he is a "catcher" (dumb name. He always seemed to be a catcher-enchanter hybrid to me, I was comparing Janna and Soraka to Bard because they built very similarly.

Tfw Thresh isnt a Real support. I understand what you mean by Blitz because he one shots people but thresh...... He is the poster child of "real supports" Doesnt do a lot of damage. Has strong CC, The ability to save his teammate, and play making potential.

Thresh has damage. But if you look at his base stats, and then his kit... it makes you say... "WHAT THE HELL IS RIOT SHOOTING UP!?"

Base Health: 560 +93 per level Attack Damage: 47.696(+2.2 per level) Attack Speed: 0.625 Movement Speed: 335 Health Regen: 6.92

And here's where you will really say WTF RIOT! Armor: 16 (+0 per level) Magic Resist: 30 (+0 per level)

Now how the HELL do you give a support who has an ability to immediately jump on top of his enemy, and another ability to pull/push enemies, AND an ability to BOX enemies around him... LOW starting armor and MR, and no per level scaling!?

It's not that landing hooks is what defines a good thresh. It's landing your hook. Jump on top of someone in the middle of a team fight, AND SURVIVE. He literally has the lowest resistances in the entire game, and people call him tanky.

his overloaded kit is balanced by the lack of stats, and the high cooldown on all his spells

but he still needs a nerf atm because 7.9 imbalanced him

You are joking right? Censer already can heal an adc who has hurricane for almost 90 hp every auto with only 1 item each. 90 health every auto at level 7-9 depending on how well bot lane does is broken.

I think thresh and blitz are need of nerfs instead of support items or utility supports are in need of buff. I'd also recommend to fix GW for soraka as she is literally useless when enemy buys GW. I have also made a humongous thread about it explaining every math there is to her healing and how badly GW is affecting her in comparison to other healing supports. No one answered regarding GW because they themselves know that let alone LCS, soraka as a whole is dying.
