So i according to riot they say that they will never create a God based champion!!

So a couple of years ago i have create a champion in champion creation on the old forum and i was chatting with some Riot members on Riot chat in the old client They all have say that they dont want to create a champion that have any god relate on his/her kit because it may hurt religion people so they want to avoid that (The name of the champion was "the god of universe") pretty much a guy was was able to use the power of the universe such as Sun rays Super novas and stuff like that

But they say that any god relate champion cant happen in the game and they never create that type of champions because earth have many religions and that may hurt some people

But now we have the new Champion that is actually based on a "real life" myth based god and it even have a passive "The elder god" so what is going on here?

Plus i remember some other dude was have create "Kronos the father of gods" and they still have say to this dude the same stuff that some people are pagan and creating such a champion it would be wrong

So does the ideology of riot change? because if yes that good saying that "create a champion that is based on god may hurt people" was kinda stupid

Well we have Kayle And Morgana but a rioter say that this 2 champions are based on a religion that is not known outside of league of legends and they pretty much not divine creatures.....

IDK i guess riot was a bit afraid back then because the game wasent that big

Im a religous person. I could care less if the new champion mentions a god.

Some people get offended. I understand but some people get easily offended.

I know people have different beliefs. I respect that. Just show other people that same respect.

Its like visiting a different culture. Sure its odd from yours but you respect their culture and not insult it because thats disrespectful and of course people are gonna.give you a stink eye if you laugh at a guy wearing a kilt.

But to outright hate a culture just for being? Is just wrong.

Riot of all should know this as they have different ways of banning people for offencive language in each country their game is in.

Because the Kraken is a made up god in the Runeterra world, so it shouldn't spark any religious conflict

Kraken actually is a divine creature made up from ZEUS the father of the god in ancient greece

They probably were (somewhat legitimately) anxious about the idea of creating an actual god as a playable character. Religion is a touchy subject so them wanting to be careful with it makes sense. They may have changed their stance on the matter, but it's worth noting that the new champion is a priestess, not a god. She calls upon a god-like being but it's pretty clear she herself is not divine but is simply serving as a conduit.

Smite. Lol

They use actual religions as.charactars. but its kinda.cool because you feel like your also learning of history and culture.

Which is cool for nerdy nerds like me.

But the new Champion is able to "control" the Kraken a monster that the only person who was able to control it was Zeus!!

So they pretty much say that the new champion is Zeus someone can say!!

But anyway me personally i am happy to see that riot actually stop thinking the people who get offended by everything and i am happy that they finally start creating new cool designs

We have an entire parade of Egyptian gods, the 4 horsemen themed champs, Norse god inspired champs like Olaf, and many mythology related champs like Ahri or Wukong.

And they say they won't make a god related champ? Wat.

your champion was "god" the heavenly creator sort of thing. that sort of thing of having a solitary god can be offensive to religions with many gods. also elder god is a term referring to the deep one something hp lovecarft Cthulhu related. as far as the pasive it says "a elder god' so in that respect it is a god defined as a spirit that is worshiped
