Runes + Masteries vs no Runes/Masteries

Back when the LCS first started HottshotGG was penalized and had to play without runes one game. They still won and he actually won his lane.

Would i guarantee a win for the LCS team without runes? No, but i would say they had the better chance than the plats.

5s? yes.If 5 solo queue lcs players got thrown together vs plats with runes / masteries? Probably.

plats probably, but a team of diamond 1s or master tier would probably beat a LCS team with no runes/masteries.

Like, I got a friend into the game a couple weeks ago and watched his first few games. It's a fuckin whole different game with no runes or masteries. He couldn't trade in lane without taking more damage from minions than he dished out, even with the beginner bots running away from him. One game he played with Garen and couldn't last hit for shit becasue he dealt so little damage that often he'd lose CS during his long ass attack animation because he had to wait for them to be so low to last hit with no AD from runes or masteries. He'd played smite and strife so he wasn't a 100% newbie to MOBAs either.

It's really nuts.
