Dear Riot, I am ok with you making the game brainlessly stompy and snowbally...

SaltyToplaneGoat··100 votes·4,980 views

... but then don't expect me to actually play through any game that I am at the recieving end of it. The score is 17-4 at minute 15? Surrender or I afk. Simple as that. You want one team to be the overly dominating one because being the one stomping feels fun? Well, good for you, but I surely won't tear my fucking arse open and try to carry a team that already is this deep in the shit and at the recieving end of a stomp.

Maybe if this game was balanced in a way that I could consider that a comback from such a score would be possible, I might bother, but like this, nope, even gonna take priority queue for that. Luckily it's always reliable 20 minutes, good enough for at least almost one episode of whatever I wind up watching. With this it is not even an inconvenience, as I can reliably catch up with my plan-to-watch-list lol.

Better end lost games in 15 minutes and jump into the next, before wasting 40 on the same loss. Heck, Just afking at 15, and taking the surrender at 20 or even earlier, plus 20 minutes low priority queue is STILL more efficient than 40+ minutes of watching some morons fail to press the yes-button on the surrender vote (usually it's 1/14/2 premade botlane yay) and then start the next game.

Is my behavior toxic? Obviously. Do I give a shit? No. All I provide is a honst and logical response to the inherent system with the goal to get as many ranked games, and with that potential wins, done as fast as possible so I climb. And that is the whole point of ranked, and if actively ruining games so they end faster is the way to do that, well... so be it.

The moment there is no realistic hope of winning a match is the moment one's Nexus should explode. The very existence of a match-ending objective means it represents the game's point of no return, before which winning should always be a realistic option. Dragging a match on long after it has already been decided is pointless, particularly if Riot is trying to speed games up, and is also cruel to the people who wanted a fun game but are forced to sit through an extended loss. The fact that this happens so often is indicative that the devs' methods of accelerating games have come at a serious cost to their quality and fairness. Similarly, the comparative difficulty in ending games that are clearly lost and undesirable to most participants on the losing side I think is also responsible for generating a lot of unnecessary frustration, as it only further contributes to the feeling of being shackled to an unenjoyable experience when the original intent was simply to have fun.

For a time, the answer to this was that games rarely felt so unwinnable as to lack comeback potential at all, and preference on the surrender votes had been given to the minority of players who wanted to keep on fighting, rather than the majority who didn't. Reasoning was also given that 3-man premades could unfairly vote out the remaining two pickups who didn't want to abandon a match. However, none of these arguments have held up in practice, as games now frequently snowball out of control, and it's all too easy for two players, or just one player, to hold their entire team hostage, and often out of pure spite. It breeds toxicity and frustration, and only leads people to fall out of love with a game that has a lot of potential for positive experiences.

Personally, I feel far fewer restrictions need to be placed on the surrender vote: I think it should be available right from the start, and should succeed if at least 50% of the team votes yes (so if you're down to 4 players, just 2 people voting yes should end the game). This should be blended with Remake, so that ending the game early and within certain conditions carries fewer to no penalties. If doing so were to lead to mass quitting, that would only be a reflection upon the true comeback potential in League of Legends matches, and would be even more of a wake-up call for Riot to improve upon that.

ofc we all know about realistic win chance when at the postgame screne one chan verify how one adc deals 40k dmg and the other one cant reach 10k, and that is just one role. In the actual LoL if ADC gets fed, he ll go with his support to end mid or top. So, if bot lane lose fast, in less than 10 minutes you can have a 1vs3 at mid with your bot lane refusing to move because "man we need farm we are too behind".

No, in this seasson early game fed is most of the times the end.

It's hard to comeback not impossible

FlameadoDeKoorvo1 votes

You are wrong, nowadays comeback is not a "good play or work as team" is always caused by several and continuopus missplays from enemy team. Is not up to you, is all about enemy fails (and several times).

Long time ago you can hide as team under towers and def to try to scale and comeback, rigth now tower diving is a reality even at min 10-15. You cant be safe under tower cleaning waves so you just can wait to enemy fails. In addition, because of strong snowball, enemy team have to fail a lot to gave you a chance.

So you telling me that at the moment your game was (lost) if ur whole team was replaced with 5 challenger• players they still wouldn't be able to win ? I want profit of this

SaltyToplaneGoat24 votes

No, they would not. Personal skill is only amounts to that much when it's up against bare numbers. Once one team is so fed that they just can throw themselves against the enemy base and still profit of that, because every enemy in their way is simply maimed to death by the raw damage - and that implies a totally brain dead enemy team. It's mostly enough that when five are needed to succesfully hold up four, that's one more free player that can take objectives.

Not to mention that it would be also highly champ dependant. Sure there are high-skill champions that can do the famous "1vs5", but if your team has an Ashe as adc, well what is she going to do? There are limits to what a single champion can do, and if the full arsenal of options has already been exhausted, then suddenly you will not open up new paths just because another player is on it.

Or to make it short: Skill doesn't matter much if you can't express it, because the snowballed enemy Rengar just deletes you before you can even show anything of your skills, and as far as I know, making "Big dick plays" or whatever it is called nowadays, is a bit hard to do when you are dead.

To be fair, if the game is above Gold Elo, that might very well be the case.

A lot of the reason Challenger players are Challenger is their ability to not make mistakes and rack up incremental advantages, especially in the early game. But if we're already past that early game, against enemies that aren't going to outright throw, with subpar item builds and down several towers, there may just legitimately be nothing left to do.

(That's before counting in the fact that such a teamwide skill jump is patently ridiculous.)

Who gives a shit if challengers can win these unwinnable games, that's completely irrelevant to 99 percent of the playerbase. It's like saying "Jesus could walk on water, why can't you?" The game feels like shit to most of the playerbase, especially veterans, so why should we give two shits about what Challengers think.

We play the game to have fun, Riot ruined that, why do I care what challengers think? If anything they share the blame since RIot made most of these changes for those high elo players so their precious LCS would be watchable, and it still garbage because the morons tried to make the game something its not.

Because if i have to back with a wave piled up the BF adc will take that turret despite the resistances. With that said, these resistances were extremely gutted after season 6 (I believe) intentionally making one tower weaker than the others to combat lane swapping in lcs which basically made the game a stalemate for the first 10 minutes or so. The bot tower is purposely made statistically weaker and turrets have had their shields removed a LONG time ago. Bro you are LITERALLY traveling through time.

"You clearly don't know much about the game."

I swear, this community deserves it's reputation.

DBS Ronovon3 votes

The shields are in place currently. What are the stat differences on the bot turret? When were the shields removed? I see them every game, are you saying I don't see 10 minute turret shields? Whats with your crap attitude anyway?

You know about thsi Dravens taking 2 kills at min 3 because your bot lane fails? and then with BS this Draven 2 shoot your adc at min ~5? and just with a little of help of their jungle whis Draven can take bot tower EASILY before min 10 and you just can whatc because your adc deals no dmg meanwhile enemy adc 2-3 shoot you?

There is a small damage-soaking sheild in the early game at mid turret at least. Idk about top. There isn't any such sheild botlane.

Where the hell are there turret shields?

DBS Ronovon2 votes

There are turd shields in the beginning of the game every summoners rift five V5 that you play where you unaware of this ? Obvious

SaltyToplaneGoat3 votes

Not that they ammount to much considering how easy towers crumble in every game. Also botlane turrets are extra fragile by design. So much for this precious "comeback mechanic".

Rhai1 votes

Calling it a shield is very misleading, damage reduction would be the correct term. Percentile to be specific.

DBS Ronovon1 votes

When you attack the Turret, there is a blue bubble shield animation that clearly shows a shield resisting your auto attacks on the turret. How is that misleading in any way? What would you call it, a protection blanket?

Divewing1 votes

Funny. There are no blue bubble shield animations showing a shield resisting an AA on literally everything else...

Welp, guess that means the only shields that exist in League are the Turret Resistances, unless you see blue-bubble-shield animations, it's not a shield. OBVIOUSLY.

Really dude...?

That addition was a change made to give an idication that any given tower HAS it's fortification buff. IT'S SOLELY A CLARITY THING. That does not IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM mean it is a shield.

They are resistance buffs, not shields. Stop using the wrong terminology based on what things look like rather than how they actually function, especially when turret shields are something that DID exist in the past.

DBS Ronovon1 votes

Oka hahaha, I don't even know why you want to argue this with me. Go on the Practice mode right now. Hit the turret right away, and tell me what animation you see. I see a translucent shield block every attack. Do you not see the same thing? In games, what does a shield represent? I'll give you the answer guy, shields represent defense, so whatever you want to say, the meaning it the same, plus you can view the animation yourself. Thanks.

Nowhere in Patch History does it mention a shield in the way you're talking about.

This is like you saying a mango is a peach because they are both orange coloured fruits.

Stop talking about what you see (like a moron), and start talking about what it actually is. You've confused yourself thinking this is a debate - it's not. There are no opinions here, you are flat out wrong, and using the wrong terminology. Either stop doing it, or stop getting frustrated when people assume you are talking about ACTUAL shielding, which was removed in season 5/6

That's not a shield. That's damage mitigation passive that protect the turrets from early destruction. It makes it hard for champions with no damage to just swarm a lane after a gank and then take an easy turret early into the game.
