to make tanks actually balanced while feeling tanky youd just have to strip % damage from their kits and increase their resilience.

but since they want tanks to deal enough damage to kill each other, so the LCS crowd has something to watch, they either have to just make them better bruisers, or nonexistent.

I can understand this stance. It kind of still works from a lane persoective though, as having their damage focused that way means they won’t have as high of base values on their other abilities. Sion is an example of high base values and how they can be too effective, but that’s also mainly because his skills are so unreliable. This can actually make them a bit more fair in trades, as their trade damage will remain consistent and not as punishing early to the squishier fighters.

It would need tuned properly though. %current over %max would give tanks less straight dueling power, still being able to hurt each other but losing over time to more consistent damage, or straight lower values, or on less reliable moves as a reward. But 1/5-1/4 of your health shouldn’t vanish in a trade with a tank. Any shaving off of the power in %health damage would go a long way.

Gragas's W doesnt slow so you can remove him. 2.Jarvan doesnt work because his Q+E combo isnt 2 forms of cc its 1 only. and his R isnt cc since its not hindering the target from fighting. Sure it hinders their movement in some cases, but even then j4 is listed as a tank not a bruiser. Same way gragas is listed as a fighter and not a mage.
If i wanted to cherry pick id add protect or sustain on their abilities and that would open up naut thresh shen alistar malphite leona. Poppy with sejuani is already on the list. Hopefully you can see how wrong you are now.
