Next time you're doing major stuff to Malz, give him the WW treatment
And what I mean by this, is that his ult should be given some sort of counterplay, while some power should be put elsewhere. Because right now it's probably the single most non-intuitive and spell in the game, the enemy isn't allowed to be neither reactive or proactive (besides getting a
). It's seriously absolutely scary how obnoxious this champion can be when strong (still remember the 2k16 Worlds/LCS games where Every. Damn. Player in Malzahar's enemy team HAD to buy a stupid item just because of him) and it's honestly sad seeing him being changed over and over again with no real purpose.
If you ask me, his ultimate should look like this:
Malzahar connects with the mind of the enemy champion for one second, time in which a tether is formed (around 900 range, if the enemy is too far the spell is cancelled), the Null Zone is opened and the target is slowed by X%. It then acts like his current ultimate, supressing the target and dealing damage for 3 seconds.
Now you're actually talking about interaction. The enemy is now allowed to try and break the tether by getting out of range or to CC Malzahar in order to cancel his channel, or at least get out of the Null Zone.
And one last thing, when you're buffing him to compensate, put emphasis on things that make the difference between the bad Malz and the good Malz. For example, his E reset on Q and R (yes I prefer the post-mage-update Malz because it's somewhat less "roll my combo on them and hope they die") is a good thing to go. Go ahead and use that, make each reset amplify the damage, for example.
IDK if you guys agree with me but this champion is completely out of modern gameplay standards and no band-aids can solve this.
