[Champion Concept] Dairah, Lament of a Dying Race

####Dairah, The Last of His Kind


Dairah (pronounced Day-Ra) is an ad tank, he can go top or possibly jungle. He is a melee champion who is meant to stay in the front lines and take damage and be an unstoppable wall. Most of his scaling is based on his health, which would make him a very effect tank jungler. Dairah is part of a race that is the sister race to Kayles, they are immortal but not invincible. They are very close to nature, but because they look evil and are very large they are often misunderstood and painted in a bad light. It was because of this that eventually they were wiped out, all except for Dairah.

He is very tall and large, wearing full armor that looks as if it was created in nature. His helmet has two openings on his temples where his horns come out and bend towards the back of his head. His red/black cape is actually his tattered wings that are no longer completely usable, they are torn and punctured full of holes. His armor is similarly beat up and full of scars of past battles. In left hand is the remnants of a large shield, shredded but still functional. In his right hand is his only friend, his sword. It is notched, scratched up, the last foot and a half of it is missing, and the handle is non-existent.

LORE

I am the last of my kind...

Battles everyday, non-stop fighting from morning to night, there is no rest for fear of ambush. I have forgotten everything except how to swing my sword, my past is no more, now i am a soldier, a defender. If i fall my people will die... I am losing all feeling, starting to not care, to forget myself... Tears are the only thing that shows i am still me

Humans... Monsters far worse then any nightmare. Their blood thirst never ceases, there seems to be no end to their destruction. They fear us for our looks, call us demons, monsters, and yet the things they do to us, to their land, to each other are far far more monstrous. They came in the night and slaughtered us like cattle, forced us into our last stronghold, a race as old and powerful as ours hiding like rats. All in the name of protection for their kind.

Our stronghold fell, our armies destroyed, our towns burned to ashs, the citizens sharing the same fate. My friends, my family, everyone i knew are all dead

...and now I am the last of my kind

There is no where for me anymore, they have taken it all... Humans... I will kill them all. Burn their buildings to the ground! Town to town i will give them a reason to fear my race! They will remember me and my people! I will give them all the pain and suffering they caused back ten-fold! Mark my words humans

###ABILITIES

[Passive][Hate ]: Every other basic attack increases his Armor and Magic resist by 3/5/7. Decays immediately when not in combat. (Maximum 5 stacks)

[Q][Unstoppable March ][50/60/70 mana][9/8.5/8/7.5/7 seconds]: Passive - Dairah can walk through units.
Active - Dairah charges in target direction, stepping over everything in his path dealing 35/60/85/110/135 + 40% of his AD and gives him a shield that blocks 50/60/80/100/120 + 3% of his maximum life for every enemy champion he hits. (Can be used over walls)

[W][Avenger ][75 mana][10/9/8/7/6 seconds]: Dairah slashes enemy with a powerful 2-handed strike dealing 70/90/120/160/210 + 10% of his maximum life. Any enemy champion or large monster hit by Avenger is marked with Vengeance for 3 seconds, Dairah can cast Avenger again on marked target lunging forward a short distance and stabbing them for 6/7/8/9/10% of their current life and throwing them behind him. Using the second cast will increase Avenger's cooldown by 4 seconds

[E][Vengeance ][50/55/60/65/70 mana][11/10/9/8/7 seconds]: Dairah spins in a circle swinging his sword dealing 65/100/135/170/205 + 60% of his AD and knocking everything hit back a short distance. Enemies marked with Vengeance will be knocked back further and will take an additional 6/7/8/9/10 of their maximum life.

[R][Dying Sorrow ][120 mana][130/115/100 seconds]: Dairah pours all his anger and sorrow into an enemy champion dealing 150/175/200 damage + 35% of his current health and stunning them for .5 seconds, if the enemy champion is killed by Dying Sorrow they will explode dealing 150/175/200 + 15% of their maximum life to all enemies around them.


####Explanations

There isnt much to explain here, but i will go through anyways. Note: all skills, names, numbers, and ratios are subject to change.

Passive - This is to help him clear the jungle since i kind of had jungling in mind when making him, it will also help him in lane though.

Q - I was thinking of giving him a movement speed reduction when walking through minions. His charge is just a simple dash but it deals damage to everything it its path, this way using it recklessly in lane will push the lane too much. Now gives him a shield.

W and E - i will do both since they are connected. His E can only be used on an opponent hit by his W. His W is a simple AA reset that activates his E which is a throw as well as his main damage. The cooldown on his W starts right when he uses it. I was also thinking of putting in "not using E will reduce Avengers cooldown by 5 seconds" but i wasnt sure if it would be balanced. Changed to be more reasonable. His W is now his old W and E combo in one skill and his E is a radial knockback.

R - his ult is simple, but must be timed correctly. Using it first might be the best option if u want most damage to a single target, but if u want to do more damage overall then using it to kill someone is best.

EDIT: 7/13/14 - Changed passive to gaining armor and MR every other basic attack.

  • Added a knockback to his Q if it hits an enemy at the end of its charge.
  • Changed some of the damage and scaling.
    7/14/14 - Changed his Q to give him a shield and reduced its damage.
    -Changed his W and E combining them into one skill.
    -New E, will now spin a circle and knocks everything around him back.
  • changed alot of his damage and scalings so he wouldnt be so overwhelming.
    -Added a Planned Changes section so you all know what i plan to work on.
    7/16/14 - Added damage scalings and scaling to his Passive, i decided to just go with what i felt fit best. Looking forward to your comments on it. PLANNED CHANGES: -Passive will be getting redone so it wont give him too much armor and mr.
    -Will work with his Q a bit more as i feel it doesnt 100% fit his kit but i like the concept behind it.
  • his ults scaling will be fixed.
    -Will add level scaling to all his skills.

I like the champ as a whole, but perhaps you could do something a bit similar to lee sin's moves with Daira's W-E combo? it would free up another moves slot and make a bit of thematical sense in my mind. Great work, and I enjoy the lore. :)

I love the lore, but then again I'm a story buff.

Intersting use of Maximum HP going on, and the kit seems pretty solid to me (don't feel like picking numbers apart right now). Great work!

He seems like a really good champ idea. I like the moveset and the lore. The balance of the moves is the only trouble I'm having. Say he builds full tank and has 3000ish health. And say his opponent has 3000 health as well. That's 500 damage. Then E's. That's 705 damage. Then he ults doing 1415 damage. That's an overall of 2620 damage on one opponent in one rotation. But overall it seems like a good idea overall.Also it seems like his passive and q doesn't fit with the rest of his move set. Passive crit scale and the Q scales of AD. With his moves it seems like he would be a tank and the only reason to use Q is for a gap closer or escape.

He sounds really fun, to be honest. Not sure how well he would do in lane, be I really like tanky junglers like that. He seems pretty good, but his W and E scalings are really powerful... 30% of his target's max health with his normal abilities is a lot for a tank (even including armor)... But it seems really fun to leap at an enemy, smash them, knock them away, then chase back after them His ultimate is cool, but it feels rather bursty... I'm not quite sure why a full tank would have an ult that's solely for damage even though it scales on health (sure, Garen does, but he's supposed to be a fighter even though people often full-tank with him)... Although to be honest, I feel like people would build him like a tanky fighter (especially because of the aforementioned combo)...

TL;DR: W and E have too high max HP (of target) scalings, not sure why a full tank would have a bursty ult that's good at executing.

Nice work here, but you are missing scaling!

At level 1 his passive could give him 35 armor and magic resistance which is huge. Maybe let it scale like 3/4/5/6 at level 1/6/11/16

In every other skill you must add a scaling factor otherwise it would be pointless to upgrade his spells.

His W+E combo could use some love. At the moment it's huge nuke. but it's very limited. You can't have a skill that can be used only after another skill is used.

For instance, Twitch has Expunge which can be used only on poisoned enemies, but his entire kit revolves around the poison part, in fact you can apply the passive with basic attacks or with Venom Cask.

So your champion needs to either be able to apply the mark with another spell or make Venegeance usable on non-marked targets. Some ideas:

Passive - Hate: Every basic attack increases Dairah's Armor and Magic resist by 3/4/5/6. Decays immediately when not in combat. (Max 5 stacks) The fifth consecutive basic attack will apply Avenger Mark.

OR

E - Vengeance: Dairah is full of hate for the marked target and stabs his sword through them dealing 50/90/130/170/210 + 15% of their current life then throws them behind him. If Vengeance is cast on a marked target it will deal an additional 50% damage.

By the way I like the explosion part of the ultimate, but you should really lower health% damage and add scalings.

Overall it's a good champion but it can improve.

He does way too much damage at later levels, but it is fixable with some tweakings. Overall a great idea i would buy! What skins would he come with? i imagine a Justicar skin or Angelic Skin, or maybe like in his prime skin.

Does his Q scale at all? His passive probably should scale (35 extra armor/mr early is insane) Again, does his W scale? Does his R scale?

I'm asking if they scale because I want to know what his damage output would be like.
