Have leftover RP that you get tired of seeing? I have a great idea to get rid of it.

Hey guys. I recently bought some RP and I ended up having 24 RP leftover from my purchases. I was thinking, and I came up with an idea that my friends and I all agree would be a great thing for Riot to do. There have been plenty of times where I end up with quantities of 80 or maybe 100 or (in this case) 24 RP leftover. It's not really good for much other than letting it add on to the next amount of RP you purchase, so I was thinking there should be a way for us to give Riot back our RP, so it can be converted into money and sent to a charity, such as a children's hospital or Doctors Without Borders, or anything really. Doing the math 650 RP = $5 USD that converts to $1 USD = 130 RP. Okay now based on that, if people from all over were to donate their leftover RP, it could REALLY add up and it could really help out a charity! Riot could even do a community poll to decide which charity, or maybe make several options for users to choose from so their donations go to whatever they want their donation to go to. If you think about it, there are almost 70 million players monthly and if only 50,000 people donated lets say 50 of their leftover RP, that would add up to roughly $19,200 USD for charity! Some people would donate more than 50 RP, and it's possible that more or less than 50,000 people would donate. On Reddit people are always complaining about having to look at that RP that we can't do anything with, so I'm sure many people would help out, especially seeing how it's for a great cause. The League of Legends community has done great things in the past that are similar to this, so I think that this is a really good idea and that we should do this and really help out a charity!! Thank you for taking the time to read this!

What a nifty idea. I'm sending this to our resident philanthropist.

This is a great idea. Of course it would have to go to something like childhood cancer and not the LGBT for me to get on board.

I like this idea, even the smallest leftover RP amounts add-up. This would be great for not only us, but for people in need.

yes then this might mean that their will be less cancer players in my games

This is actually a really thoughtful and considerate idea. Maybe there could be rewards for people who donate an amount of RP like an exclusive summoner icon for incentive.

RIOT. LISTEN. I want Ao Shin to come out. I want Shyvana's ultimate fixed and buffed. I think yasuo and several other "OP" champions are just fine as they are, and dont need massive kit reworks or nerfs. But listen. I dont care if you do the exact opposite of what i want. I dont care if we never get that amazing storm dragon. I dont care if Yasuo is nerfed into the ground. But the only thing I really DO care about is if this idea is not made into a reality. So please, please, please do this. I think it is an awesome idea and if Riot games does this it would be so freakin amazing. Thanks if you took the time to read this message from a pretty insignificant bronze player.

Wow! Awesome idea! It would speak immensely to the character of the company if Riot implemented this. Rather than leaving that leftover "currency" in the "bank" as an incentive to purchase more RP we can give back. People don't necessarily buy more RP just because there is 100 left. Once I have a skin for all the champs I play, I'm pretty much done with it.

I read the title, and went on a bathroom break before reading the post. This is EXACTLY what I was thinking. What an excellent idea. I would surely participate in this. I would like to see all kinds of charities represented, from which we could choose. I'm not sure why people are arguing about which cause is the most important.

The only issue I could see is that because Riot gives new accounts RP for free, it could potentially be gamed for the benefit of a charity (not the worst thing, but still something that might be tough to deal with). If you made it so that accounts can only donate leftover RP up to the amount they have purchased on the account, that would work.

Lol, donating to charity. Fuck that shit I'll keep my leftovers and work it down to 0 myself.

i dont think it works like that.... there isnt a limited amount of rp so it cant really be converted because its not a currency... if you spend 5$ it gets you 650 rp if you get a 520 skin its 130rp left over if you donate 130rp then riot is going to have to donate with their own money because it isnt like euros, you can convert euros to usd but you cant convert rp into it because it isnt an actual currency

A noble idea, but the whole reason companies employ these "Point" systems is so that you can't buy exactly what you want, and you are left with points and anxiety about them, so you purchase more bundles and repeat the cycle.

I doubt Riot would let you "give" your points back, even if it was to charity, as at that point you have already paid for them, and they'd be taking money out of their own pocket to refund millions of plays small amounts of RP.

Sorry to be cynical, but that's how these point systems are designed, rather than just letting you pay $2.99 for ward skin or whatever.
