UPDATE: The mini-tournament is complete. However, the storyline it is part of continues. Thrown in your lot with one of the four factions involved — Piltover, Bandle City, Zaun, and Demacia — and play some matches! All skill levels are welcome.

"What's Factions?"

In short, Factions is a community-powered lore-focused game mode centered around faction versus faction matches (such as Noxus vs. Ionia) fought using faction-specific Champion lists. Anyone can start a match anytime — they're organized as custom games, and the results are submitted online for scoring. Factions gain points from victories and lose points from defeats. The aggregate outcomes of these matches determine how the ongoing story plays out.

Factions is organized into discrete chapters ("arcs", "storylines") which each feature a different set of playable factions. Each chapter runs for about 2–3 months.

The Hextech Revolution chapter ends this weekend with an arc-ending tournament. After that, we'll begin planning for the next round, including which factions will face off.
Remember: you don't have to stick with the same faction for every arc! Your allegiance ends when the arc does, so you can (e.g.) declare for Demacia now and then fight for Ionia or Piltover when the new arc begins.
