The wind blew threw his short black hair. He squinted his navy eyes against the flurry of snow kicked up by the February wind. "Just pose as a mailman they said. It's only a 2 mile walk up to the champions dormitories they said. You will be fine they said. It's gotta be at least negative ten degrees out here. Who thought it was a good idea to choose me for the job? I am a lazy engineering major that apparently has all the skills to pull off a multiple week maybe even month test on a bunch of antisocial demigods who spend their life killing each other. What the hell i have gotten myself into?" he muttered to himself. "The dorms have to be getting closer, thank god I think I see them." Just over the hill the wood roof of the champions dorms shone in the late say sun. Aerem walked closer to the homes. He pulled out his phone. "Okay I have arrived. I am passed the designated border. The test can begin," he said into the phone with a professional voice. He put the shiny black device back in his jeans pocket. He tightened his coat and shifted the position of the bag of letters on his back. he began walking towards the houses again. The champions strode out of the front door of the doors to receive their mail. Aerem slipped into character.

"Hey the mails here!" Jinx yelled as she bounced out of the door. 'oh wonderful. I get to listen to all of the other champions hear about how proud their parents are of them, how they miss them so much, or how they wish they could be there with them this Valentine's day. I wonder what nonexistent mail I will get this time?' Vi thought to herself. Vi walked out the door and looked for the usual obese weird mailman and was pleasantly surprised. She walked up to him and asked him where was the old mailman.
"Where did the old weird guy go?" Caitlin shot her a look. "Sorry I mean where did the normal mailman go?" She inquired. Aerem laughed quietly to himself. 'So this is the legendary vi. She is about as brash as her punches are strong.'
"He got sick and I'm covering for him. Probably only temporary. it a shame that I won't have to make the two mile trek out to this singular facility." Aerem took the bait for the small talk dragged the conversation out. He knew Vi didn't get anything. He had looked through the bag already. "Are you kidding me? I know people who would give their life just to come up here for a few hours." Vi replied with an expression of disbelief. "I majored in engineering and minored in physics and philosophy. Most normal male body functions died off during college," Aerem responded. "If I still had the mind of when I was ten, aka before I got on the internet and became a total geek, I would probably find this interesting," he continued.
Aerem finished handing out the mail and bent down to zip up the bag. He stood up quickly and hit his head on her jaw. Vi clutched her jaw. They locked eyes for a moment.
Vi spit out some blood before she said, "I but muh toungue."
"Oops sorry." Aerem hastily said apologetically. He slung his pack over his shoulder. "Well time to go..." Aerem knew there was no "go". The whole place was barricaded off by the invisible walls. he started heading back down the road. He hit the wall and stumbled backward.
