###Introduction and Backstory

Naylum (Pronounced Nay-lum) is a mage who is connected to a void creature. He has the ability to take energy from the surrounding area or to steal it from others. He gained this ability when he was still a fetus, his mother came into contact with the Void while adventuring in the Shurima Desert. Instead of taking control of her the void creature focused all its attention on the fetus in her womb. The void creature has no previous connection to the boy or his family, it was entirely coincidental.

Months later when he was born, his power killed the mother and everyone around him by sucking out their life force and sending it to the Void creature. The creature then used its powers to unnaturally grow the boys body to an age where he can walk, then gave him the Eyes of Abyss. It is an odd relationship they have; in exchange for the power he steals he is protected from all harm and given inhuman abilities. Naylum traveled the desert and surrounding lands stealing life after life from the towns and land.

Once he had stolen all life from a town he would move on, he did this for 10 years before finding the Fields of Justice. He was drawn to the League of Legends because he saw the great amount of power used by the Summoners and the Nexus, power he wants to steal and give to the creature. The creature was slightly confused but not deterred, why did he not see this power before? The League learned of Naylum and what he was. So they lured him to them using their massive amount of energy, locking him in and away from the world.

###Appearance

Naylum is a 15 year old boy with a ragged black robe wrapped around him. He is bare foot and always wears his hood up to hide his face. His eyes glow very faintly with a dark purple hue and his skin is pale white. There is a very faint black silhouette floating just behind him and sometimes will surround him, this is what he uses has his abilities; it is the ethereal manifestation of the Void creature that is using him. When Naylum talks it is both his and the creature's voice at once.

###Naylum, Child of the Abyss Primary Role: Mage
Secondary Role: Assassin

#####Lore
"Hello sweet child, my name is ---'---, and I will be your friend from now on until the end of time. You do not understand me yet, but one day you will and I will always be here for when you do. You are so small, so weak, so powerless, but don't worry for I am not and I will share my power and knowledge with you. Now sleep young one for our time is done, for now hehehe..."

"Wake now, it is time for you to be born, it will not hurt... you heheheh. That's it, come out into the world and let us show off our awesome power. Yes good very good quite a bit of power, oh what's this? You are too weak to move? Hahaha you humans, well we can fix that easily enough, I will lend you some of the power we took from you mother. There we go now you have the body of a 5 year old, here this is how you walk, yes very good. What shall we call ourselves? I believe your mother called out the word 'Naylum'. I guess that sounds good. Well Naylum can you see that energy source over there? No? Well let me lend you a bit more power and change your eyes. There. Now can you see it? That is what you humans call a city, hundreds and thousands gather together ripe for the taking. Let us go take it."

"Well Naylum, we have taken all the energy from everything around us, shall we move on? Oh my, do you see it Naylum? That beautiful large amount of power?! Let’s go take it! But what is that place Naylum? Let me see... Aha! It seems you humans call it the League of Legends. I see... the power comes from something called the Nexus, oh and there are a good number of large life forces there as well. Hmm I sense other creatures of my kind there, well no matter Naylum we are kin now they matter very little to me, if they step in our way we will take their life force as punishment. All power belongs to us Naylum! We are One! We are the Abyss!"

###ABILITIES

Passive - Abyss of Power:
Whenever Naylum kills an enemy unit he permanently increases his maximum mana by 2 and gaining .25 ability power. Abyss of Power can only proc once every 2/1/0 seconds on minion kills. This effect is doubled on large minions, large/epic monsters, and champion assists. It is tripled on champion kills.

Q - Void of Power - 50/70/90/110/130 mana - 11/10/9/8/7 seconds - 900 range:
Naylum sends the void creature at target direction dealing 70/100/130/160/190 (+70% of his AP) as magic damage to the first enemy it hits and silencing them for 1-3 seconds, depending on how far Void of Power traveled, and marking them with Void for 3 seconds.

W - Beckoning Abyss - 40/60/80/100/120 initial mana; 15/25/35/45/55 mana per second - 8 seconds - 350 radius: Naylum becomes a vortex stealing the life of everything around him dealing 30/50/70/90/110 (+20% of his AP) per second and continuously siphons 50% (25% for minions) of the damage (+6/7/8/9/10% of his maximum mana) to Naylum as a shield for the duration of the spell. Naylum is rooted while this ability is active, but he can still cast spell. If the enemy is marked with Void they will take 15% extra damage from Beckoning Abyss.

E - Powerless - 60/70/80/90/100 - 12/11.5/11/10.5/10 seconds - 645 range:
Passive: Every fourth damaging ability used on Naylum will do 10/15/20/25/30% reduced damage.
Active: Naylum’s void creature becomes a chain attaching on to target enemy champion for 2.5 seconds dealing 55/70/85/100/115 (+60% of his AP) upon impact and will be tethered to Naylum, unable to move past its max range (Can be broken by any sort of Cleanse, Flash, or Dash). If the target was marked with Void at the end of 2.5 seconds Naylum will be healed by 15% of the damage done to the target.

R - Abyssal Reckoning - 100/125/150 mana - 140/120/100 seconds - 250 range:
Naylum becomes a black hole and pulls all enemy champions towards him dealing 150/225/300 (+60% of his AP) and rooting them for 0.5/1/1.5 seconds. If one of the targets is marked with Void that target is stunned for 2 seconds.

###Explanations

This area is just me explaining the abilities further and giving some small details into why I chose these abilities. If you understand the abilities and don’t care why I chose them, then skip this section.

So Naylum may seem slightly complicated so I will use this area to explain all his abilities in a more clear way. For all of his abilities I have looked over and compared them to almost every champion that has even a remotely similar ability to balance them, so as far as I know they are fairly balanced.

His Passive was originally his E's passive but I decided he should have both, as they both fit his concept. I figured this passive would be a bit fairer then the other. This passive rewards good CSing as well as killing your lane opponent, it also encourages helping others get a kill because you still get a small bonus for assists. This might make him a very effective Support as he has a good amount of CC. NEW: gave it a cooldown when killing minions to help balance him. The cooldown does not effect Champion kills/assists or Large/Epic monster kills.

His Q is very simple skill shot. It is his combo starter; all his abilities have a small bonus when used against a marked opponent so using this randomly will cut your effectiveness by a lot. I thought a silence fit his concept very well and when making this character I knew he needed to have a silence. NEW: Added scaling to the Silence duration depending on how far it travels before hitting its target.

NOTE: I have changed his W with some help from Flintfall, I hope you like it :D.
His W creates a vortex around him, it is similar to Fiddlesticks Drain, but it gives him a shield instead of life. Also it is a mana per second cast and affects everyone around him. This fits into his concept and meshes well with his abilities, almost perfectly :D. Q, E, R, W would be his combo of ultimate damage, it has great synergy with his Ult and his E as well as the Void Debuff from his Q. It also makes him into a life-siphoning monster, one to be feared if approached carelessly. Being an immobile mage, this will help him reach top tier as diving him will cost you quite a bit.

I was thinking of making his E a skill shot, but after a bit a figured it would make his combos too hard to pull off or there would be too much trouble in a team fight. I think I like it as a targeted ability because it synergies well with his W and it would make putting it on the marked target much easier in a team fight. I decided it should heal him because it fits the concept of a power hungry black hole that absorbs life forces and I felt it gave it a risk/reward aspect where you need to be aggressive to get the reward but you might end up taking more damage then you will heal, or you might die before the chain runs out. NEW: Gave it a tether effect and changed the healing to when they are marked by Void.

His Ultimate I already had in mind when first making this concept, it was part of what shaped him. I think it fits his concept perfectly and it adds more to his team fight abilities. Plus it synergies with all his abilities very well, Ult then W, Q and E one person, using the W to gain extra damage and extra heals from your E, plus a root. It acts very similar to an Orianna ult, the only difference is it pulls them toward Naylum and they are rooted for a very short amount of time.

###UNLOCKABLE SKINS

Full Void Naylum - Naylum has become fully possessed by the void, twisted by and changed into a monster. He would have no stomach, it would just be an empty hole with a black hole like portal in the center. He would float instead of walk similar to Malzahar. His arms would be a bit longer, covered in spikes, and his flesh would be purplish. He would have 1 horn coming out of his temple. His eyes would glow brightly and on his back would be a likeness of the void creature he is possessed by carved into his flesh. (Alternatively this could be his original skin, and his original skin can be "Pre-void Naylum" or something)

Necromancer Naylum - He would have a skull painted on his face and would wear grim reaper style robes, on his back would be a ghost which moves around and talks to him. For his Q the ghost would jump at his opponent and attaching itself to them. For his W Skeletons and Zombie would come out of the ground and ghosts would rise into the sky. His E a chain of skeleton hands would extend out and grab the enemy. For his ult zombies would pop out for each enemy hit grabbing them and throwing them back to Naylum.

Soulstealer Naylum - He would be wearing a ghastly crown with a large gem in it, on his chest he would wear nothing but a necklace that hangs down towards his abdomen made of gold in the shape of eyes, the pupils would be smaller versions of the larger gem. He would be wearing a sash over his pants which have vials hanging from it; each one has a green glow. A soul with his likeness would be floating behind him. His Q would send the Soul behind him towards target direction and attaching to the first enemy hit. His W could create a whirling vortex around him like a portal and every time he damages an enemy, souls would flow into him. His E would make his opponents soul come out of their body and extend towards Naylum. His ultimate would pull their souls out of their bodies, and their bodies would follow.

  • Personally I like the Soulstealer Naylum, so I think that would be his first Unlockable Skin he is released with. -

###TRIVIA

  • The void creature has only told Naylum its name once, but he was too young to understand since it was a different language. After becoming one the creature became Naylum, so its name is Naylum now.

  • Naylum refers to himself as "Us" or "We", but the void creature will say "I" or "Me" only referring to the boy as "Naylum", why? maybe he will split from Naylum one day or maybe he is possessing more then just Naylum? When with Naylum his name is Naylum though.

  • Naylum has no real connection to the other Void creatures that we know of. He does know who they are as if he knew them while in the Void, but they do not know him or at least pretend to not know him. Naylum does not care either way for them, so has no problem fighting them.

  • Related to that, Naylum did play a part in both Malzahar and Kassadin's exposures to the void, but not for the reason of spreading the Void, it was merely for future gains of power..

  • When Naylum attacks or uses abilities it looks like the Ethereal Void creature is mimicking Naylum, but he is actually "guiding" him.

  • Naylum's father is still alive, maybe we will be seeing him in another concept? :D

  • I would love to see if someone could figure out how to use him in the Jungle, i feel he could work beautifully in the Jungle.

###EDIT

-7/21/14-
-Changed his W entirely, i think it fits his concept much better.
-Changed the range on his E, it now has a much smaller cast range.
-7/22/14-
-Added a recommended item section
-Changed his Q, W, and E slightly. Altered ratios and CC a bit on his W.
--->His Q's silence now scales with distance traveled.
--->His E now has a Tether effect instead of a root.
--->Changed the slow on his W.
-7/23/14-
-Removed the slow on his W, added new effect; NEW: his W will now do 15% bonus damage to Voided targets.
-7/24/14-
-There was small concern over his Passive making him go wildly out of control powerful, i have been aware and was looking for a fix without removing it. NEW: Abyss of Power can only proc once every 2/1/0 seconds on minion kills. Hopefully this will hold him back a bit early game from reach late-game Nasus power but only 6 min in :D.
-7/25/14-
-Greatly changed the radius on his Ult, it was way too big and a simple flash ult zhonya would have a huge impact on the fight, too huge a impact. Now its 250 from 700.

Love the lore, ahhhh

750 range targeted tether with a chance of rooting might be a bit extreme, given the damage it does.

I love what the passives do, and the whole kit meshes alright, but he doesn't look very engaging. You have a lot of cool stuff going on here but he doesn't feel very fun to play seeing as there is no new and interesting gameplay approach in the kit.

It's mainly the (W) that holds the kit back (to me anyway).

Great concept!

I really, really, like this. The whole concept of a power-siphoning being that possessed someone from a world full of power and how well his kit works with that just, like, dayum. And those skins. DAYUM.

Only problem I see is that he has quite a lot of CC in his kit. He's basically got a way to run from a 1v5 situation if played right. And his W confuses me: is it a toggle cast or does it cast, last for a bit then go on cooldown? And does it follow him, like Maokai's ultimate or does it stay where it was cast, like Trundle's W?

That passive could scale rapidly out of control. EVERY enemy he kills, he gains AP?

Otherwise seems interesting. Also, a 10% slow on his W, possibly, isn't very much. You would basically just remove the enemies' boots.

I love the champion.....but one thing about him really bothers me T_T

Black holes don't apply any greater suction to their surroundings than the sum of the gravitational pull of all the objects within the black hole.

Example: if our sun became a black hole right now earths orbit would remain unchanged, because the the gravity exerted by the sun to keep it there didn't change - merely its form.

......I still upvoted you though. it's a cool champion.

I am worried about the power of that ultimate. I red from a red post recently that the reason there are only two vacuum spells is because of their inherit power. Due to several allied champions being able to pile onto the vacuum with their own ultimates. They said Orianna was balanced because of the difficulty to move the ball and setup an ult without the enemy expecting it. Diana's vacuum just isn't powerful enough to be considered a problem. You may also notice that Orianna's ultimate only has a 400 unit radius, barely over half of your radius.

I think the best solution would be to limit the amount of forced movement of your enemies to 150-200 units toward you. This would prevent it from setting up the perfect wombo combo simply by flashing and ulting as all your enemies won't be so tightly packed.

Overall it's a very cool concept and I like the new W. It provides some unique tankiness for an all in mage.

What exactly is the point of his E? It sounds like a cool idea, but it doesn't help him get closer to enemies, and it doesn't keep them within range of his W or anything. It keeps them in range of his Q, but he's probably already fired that off by now. It also doesn't keep them in range of your ult. Additionally, a significant amount of champions have leaps that they can use to escape. Also, I feel like he would have a lot of trouble getting close enough to ult, and if he doesn't ult, his W is almost useless against champions. It's easy to just stay out of range while he's rooted. I feel like his current E doesn't help him very much, and he needs a gapcloser to use his W or ult. He could probably work well in lane (esp. with his passive), but I honestly thought of him as a jungler because of his W (although that would cut down on his passive significantly).

TL;DR: I don't see the point of his E, and he really needs a gapcloser.
