This lore update from the Factions game mode centers around a battle, the outcome of which was largely shaped by actual match results, between several factions of Valoran and the Void.

I recall someone, perhaps Riot Opeli, talking about how it would be nice to see Cho'gath going berserk outside the Fields of Justice, at his full strength. There was also, I think, something said about how the League had to be erased for this to happen. Well, I beg to differ on that last point, but I agree that it's fun seeing an unconstrained Cho'gath absolutely wrecking other Champions.

The problem with the league is that it is run by the Summoners. These people are just short of all powerful mages. The last time they used FULL power, was during the rune wars. To prevent the utter destruction of Runterra, the Summoners take it easy from now on. However, part of the problem with this story line is that any catastrophic event can be countered by the summoners. Its a matter of kicking it up just enough notches to stop what ever is going on without overdoing it. So something like cho gath going rampage mode? B-Slapped into submission, by a being going easy on him to not blow up the continent on which cho gath was standing. So, not only is there NO way to actually have "apocalyptic" events, those causing them still look weak in comparison, neutering the lore of the champion we should find so cool.
