I see people saying that all over the place. Have you even paid attention?

Toplane turned from an island into one of the important places in the game. Proof for that is INTZ, a fucking wild card Brazil team, beating the n1 seed from China, by camping the shit out of toplane and making what Dyrus had to deal with seem like a cakewalk.

The second wild card team, Albus Nox, now being 2/0 and turning the supposed boring competitive Meta on his head by having the ballsiest support of all time which deals more damage than his midlaner and describing the tactics behind his pick with the words "In Russia, you just go all Nuts". Also, the freaking wild card Russia team is now the best hope for EU.

Meanwhile, Rox Tigers, the n1 seed from Korea, the best region of the world, is not just sweeping the floor with everyone as expected but is actually struggling a little and losing against CLG, from the region that spawned the whole "NA plays" memes to describe how bad someone is.

Everything is getting turned on its head, all estimations are thrown out of proportions. This is one of the if not THE most exciting World Championships that I was able to witness so far.

And now nobody is undefeated. There's gonna be a 10-way tie at 2-1 across the 4 groups after the first weekend.

Other regions have finally upped their game. Even the wildcards have proven that the competition is catching up to the top dogs.

This has been the most evenly matched worlds since Season 2, maybe even Season 1.

That only accounts for SKT T1 now, and that their team isn't as good as it used to be (Hence why they are 2nd seed not 1). ROX tigers on the other hand, has literally steamrolled the rest of the competing teams having only lost a single game (CLG) because they YOLO'd (Poppy pick). There is already talk of it becoming KR v. KR due to the layout of the matches in the group format. Also EU has basically become NA season 5 LCS (which is a little comforting, yay NA) so the teams getting eliminated by superior EU teams like Fnatic are out the window (they didn't even make it into groups this year).

That plus the method of training and work environment of Korean/other teams from Asia is vastly more effective and efficient then that of North American teams as well was better financial and technical support. Hate to be the realist here, but unless something catastrophic happens and gives NA a unexpected edge, it's going to be another snooze fest.

Are you actually watching the matches or just looking at the scoreboard afterwards? Rox has looked terrible early on losing the laning phase in every single match they played. They only won against the 0-3 g2 because of a miracle baron steal in what would have otherwise been a stomp game. I'd argue rox has looked to be the weakest of all the korean teams we've seen so far.

Few things.

For one, it doesn't matter if they borderline ran down mid early game. The goal of the game is to win, not to look clean or pretty so literally the only thing that it boils down to if they win or lose. They are a very skilled team (1st seed in KOREA) and the the G2 games were all won because everyone and their mother knows that G2 has terrible management and leadership (vacation memes anyone?) and they simply can not compete with a high ranking Korean team like Rox. I have 0 clue how Rox looks to be the weakest of the Korean teams. SKT is a complete shadow of it's former glory. Looking at Duke play.....no....I don't want to talk about it....I would probably get less nauseous watching them play if they had Hashishin as their top laner.

Few things.

You can't have it both ways. You can't claim based off record that how clean you play doesn't matter as long as you win when the other 2 korean teams have the exact same record. Yes, skt didn't look great against fw and samsung got smashed by tsm, but both of those teams in their wins looked far more dominant then any game rox played.

If rox gives up the lead, like they did in the g2 game, to better teams then you can be sure those teams will close out the match. I will stand 100% behind my statement that samsung and skt have both looked better than rox and that korea as a whole has looked more mortal then any other tournament I have ever watched. Korea is still the favorite to win it all, but it's not a foregone conclusion like it was when samsung white was still together.
