NA LCS biggest surprises so far

By far the biggest surprise so far is how eye opening it has been to see Wildturtle and Yellowstar this season.

Everyone always said that Wildturtle was the weak link in TSM, but it turns out that it was probably just the opposite. Wildturtle is HANDS DOWN the best ADC in NA right now. In fact he may be half of the best bot lane in the World right now. Pretty amazing.

Meanwhile, Yellowstar is fighting to keep from being the worst Support in NA after being the Summer Split MVP in EU last season.

With all the talented Mids that have come to NA this season, Bjerg is looking more and more like a slightly above average mid laner now.

Any other things you guys have seen that surprises you?

Zil is definitely an early and mid game bully. However he falls off late and is really only useful for his ult if you can't land his AoE stun (which is actually harder than it should be for some reason).

But this is GBM, he excels at those types of champions (Xerath/GP/Viktor/Zilean). I'm personally a big fan of GBM, glad to see him doing well.

I'm not trying to take credit away from Turtle, but it's extremely easy to look good when you have Reignover and Huni just shitting on everything and a support like Adrian by your side to keep you alive and make plays.

Turtle is not bad by any means, but I don't think his recent performance is suggestive of him being the best ADC in NA, even if his team is currently the best. It's still a little early to tell, but I would put Turtle around 3rd-4th best ADC. Certainly an improvement over last split.

I think that IMT really plays to Turtle's strengths. TSM pretty much crapped on him most of the time to be honest.

Personal opinion from observations of previous splits. Established teams always start slow. Chaos teams and cheese teams always start strong Half way through the season it reverses and all of a sudden things are back to initial predictions.

Dig in most seasons exemplifies this. Same with tsm on the other side.

Might be different this season but it's hard to judge even teams like immortals in 6 games especially since it's the spring split where some teams barely know each other's names. Much less play styles and picks.

While that is usually true, pretty much every team has been re-worked. So it's a pretty even field right now as far as taht goes.

This is true for the most part, I think some teams (like Origen, NRG, and TSM in particular... and i hope FNC) will start picking up speed as the split goes on. Other examples would include SKT in Korea, as well as KT CJ or Jin Air (i feel like one of those will prove to be very good by the end of the split, but I'm not yet entirely sure which one).

However, I don't think there is much "chaos" style left in LCS, even Unicorns have significantly improved their macro game, but the lack of synergy allows for a lot of flukes and silly mistakes that end up losing games, simple errors that can be ironed out with good coaching and enough practice.
