If TSM wins Summer finals, do they automatically take C9 to Worlds with them?

I know TSM has already booked a trip, but I've looked at the points, but haven't done the math. Due to their high finishes and the third and 4th place teams being out of the playoffs, does that mean both teams would auto qualify if the other won. Say C9 got beat by DIG today, They would still receive 10 championship points to go along with their 2nd place championship points. Isn't that enough to put them past the remaining playoff teams in championship points no matter where each team finished outside of first? If TSM wins, they'll also lock in C9 for a trip to Worlds. Again, I could be very off about that. I haven't done the whole math. There might be a tie for championship points it CLG or DIG make it to finals with TSM and I'm not sure how those are broken.

I just thought it interesting that a TSM finals win can take C9 to worlds and C9 wouldn't even have to win a playoff game for it to happen.

Actually there's still a scenario in which TSM fails to secure a spot. They would need to be 4th at the lowest putting them at 130 CP and overtaken by only C9 at this point who would need specifically 2nd, placing them at 160 CP. Coincidentally enough, this road is possible given C9's seeding. Should CLG win vs NV, the semis would pin these two against one another.

But to your C9 point, they are not completely in the clear even if TSM wins the split. With 70 CP currently, they need to beat DIG to at least put themselves in a comfortable spot if not take it outright. Your scenario says TSM wins split so with that, yes just beating DIG would pretty much lock it even if they got 4th (they would have 110 CP, the next lowest being CLG with 100 CP if they made and lost finals).

Losing to DIG (and NV losing as majority predicted) however could cause them the Gauntlet as:

  • C9 would have 90 CP

  • CLG could have 100 CP with Finals

  • DIG could have 100 CP, but would effectively drop TSM into 3rd place match

  • IMT could have 90 CP with Finals and overtake C9 for the better Reg Season result

I might be missing some other scenarios. But that's just the general one.

Well. If TSM wins the split, then no other team can get more than 70 CP... which means that they can only tie C9 for CP. Whoever wins summer auto qualifies for worlds. So it doesn't really matter with that scenario. CLG and DIG only have 10 CP right now. So the most they could get in a TSM win scenario is 80, not 100. Meaning that they could only tie C9 at best.
