A Detailed Thread Explaining the World's Fix Job

I'll preface this by saying that I'm an NA and EU fanboy. So yes, this is coming from a place of salt and frustration, but it doesn't make it any less true.

I think most people would agree that the finals series between G2 and FPX proved that worlds this year was rigged. Allow me to shed some light on why and "what proof" there is.

  1. G2 was clearly the best team in the world, outplaying every team and having the best pick ban in the entire world... until they played a Chinese team.

    • The Evidence here is clear. Take a look at those pick/bans. G2 never gives away Xayah without the Kai'sa up and vice versa... but decided to do it in the match point... Locking in troll picks in each game... it's like they wanted us to know. The gameplay speaks for itself. I understand there are bad games... but G2 was flat out feeding. They never get caught out the way they did in that game. It happened over and over and over again throughout multiple games... again... like they wanted us to know.
  2. When the gaming world is under a political microscope after the whole Blizzard fiasco, it's no secret that RIOT was feeling the pressure to make things seems like everything was normal on the surface. There was clearly an initiative during the play in stages to not say "Hong Kong." The people took notice and let RIOT know about it. RIOT is reeling, looking for a solution with their father company, Tencent, who passed down the initiative in the first place. Suddenly, a week later, RIOT casters are saying Hong Kong excessively... attempting to prove that there was no initiative before... Tencent understood that in order for the world to watch worlds, they had to let this one go... because the end of worlds is where Tencent's real prize was.

  3. Chinese companies have made threats against their employees and employee families in order to fall in line. I wont go into this one much because it's not appropriate for these boards, but just look it up. It's no secret. The scary thing is that I'm not even sure an exchange of good (money) was needed to make this happen.

  4. In the end, we have a Chinese team, lifting a Chinese trophy, funded by a Chinese company... in Europe... during a time where the rest of the world isn't really a great fan of China...

The proof is in the gameplay. It's impossible to ignore. I'd even argue G2's reactions didn't seem genuine. Caps walking out of G1 laughing and smiling like "Oh Well. Darn" didn't seem to fit. I know conspiracy theories run rampant in the boards, but I think it's safe to say that this one is just outright fishy, bizarre, and blatant. I even imagine G2 was offered the opportunity to make it a 5 game series and just said nah to make it look even worse.

This whole salt fest is incredibly disrespectful to G2 and their players. Are you seriously saying they compromised their integrity and took bribes to lose? These players who dedicate their lives to winning at this game, you're saying don't care enough to resist a fixing. That's not only disrespectful but it shows a sincere lack of understanding of the mentality of pro athletes.

Allow me to correct you on...everything...

The Worlds theme song is called Phoenix

What's more plausible?

FPX was more prepared and was the better team on the day than G2?

Or multi million dollar companies and countries are in on a fix, to fix a league of legends world championship, something still a lot of people around the world could care less about??

It seems these "rigged" threads only fit when its convenient. Was perkz trolling when he died 6 times on yasou to SKT? No, because he came out for the last team fight and got a quadra which ended the game. However, if G2 losses that game, and the following one, how many of you are pointing at the 6 feed yasou as the focal point of your "rigged" gameplay because he never feeds like that?

I think there's a simpler explanation: G2 didn't play very well.

So G2 had such a great performance overall they even defeated SKT with 3-1 and then suddenly they forget how to play, don t care about Xayah anymore, get caught over and over again make so many mistakes in every single game(is not like they had one bad game, all of them were quite bad) and after each defeat they smiled like it was ok to lose. Hmmm something doesn t seem right.

Conspiracies aside, FPX did well all season long, and the Chinese teams are currently #1. G2 is a good team but they took all of the best EU players. Their region is weak. Not as a weak as NA, of course XD but hey...

This is hilarious.

How salty can you possibly be?

I personally don't think there's a scenario where G2 wins finals unless FPX gets knocked out of groups. I'm not saying G2 is a bad team. I'm not saying they're not good enough to beat FPX. Everyone, literally everyone was saying G2 was a better FPX. I will not deny, I would be LYING to say that G2 is not one of the best teams in the Western hemisphere.

But that's where I see the problem.

It's my prediction that G2 got so comfortable with their winning strategy that they failed to figure out the weaknesses in that strategy, and had no backup plan. They weren't on peak performance today, sure. I'll give you that. That doesn't account for the fact that they played RIGHT into FPX's hands even in the draft phases of each game, and very likely played exactly the way FPX expected them to play. That's why I saw a really strong performance in game one, an okay performance in game two and a falling apart in game three. They literally had no answer to their own gameplay style and fell because of it.

I don't know whether it's rigged or not, but G2 performed so unwell that during the second game I closed my eyes and went to sleep. Woke up with FPX holding the trophy and thinking to myself 'meh'... It's just that kind of feeling I had. :/

I’ve done it! I’ve made a perfectly balanced post!

G2 is a lucky team to make it as far they did, FPX even called it, then 3-0 them. Simple as that. The fact they beat SKT was luck on their part.
