Fix subbing please.

Honestly SKT was at a gigantic advantage in that best of 5s. Not only because they're some of the very best players in the world but because when they're tired, they can literally just tap out and have someone take their spot. Faker/Easyhoon did it last year and Bengi/Blank did it this year.

Do you remember game three where Bengi was fatigued and was consistently being outsmited by Ambition? Bengi could get that swap, and for a full game he got to rest and come in during game 5. And what do ya know? He absolutely crushed SSG. SSG didn't have that privilege.

I think that having subs is fair because it allows you to try more team oriented play and see who meshes well with who, but having a sub swap in mid-match creates a very powerful advantage where you're rested, have had 2-3 games to scout your enemy and know what they're running this match, etc. That's why I'm proposing that unless the player incurs some sort of serious injury (which isn't likely anyways because this is League, not football), the 5 players they pick to represent them have to be locked for the match.

This means that in all spring/summer split, you can use whoever you like. Hell if they're on your sub roster you can bring in Trick, Pewdiepie, and the ghost of Dunkey every other game for all I care. Just in best of 3s and best of 5s whoever you start with you should stick with unless serious injury is incurred.

Just to shut down your entire rant: SSG had Wraith as their sub and CHOSE not to use him.

I see no reason to gripe about having a single available sub as the rules dictate for any team at the event. And besides, last year, coaches and subs backstage didn't have the luxury to listen in on comms and fix any communication issues that may have risen. If SKT is willing to play caution to the wind and flex their players, that's kudos to them because a lot of other teams with multiple subs would not cycle as much unless it was a leading or necessary scenario.

You want to remove subs? WTF, we need MORE subs. In real sports subs are a key component to strategy and a priceless resource. If you want to see LoL esports become more strategy oriented and competitive we need to encourage more use of subs, not try to ban them. The other teams have subs also, they just didn't use them very much - shame on them for not seeing the value of subs like SKT does.

Fun fact: each team was only allowed to bring 1 sub for the tournament as opposed to the near-limitless amount they're allowed to have during the regular season (as korean and more chinese teams were creating multiple strategies with different player rotations to make it near-impossible for teams to prep against).

Your overall idea is flawed for 2 reasons:

a) SSG made a substitution midway through a "series" at worlds b) SSG had the option to make a substitution for themselves during any point in the series but chose not to do so (probably because wraith was proving to be a massive liability during the lck playoffs/worlds)

Every team had a sub, the rules specified they had to have one. Some teams just did not designate someone they would use as their sub (the sub for TSM was Reginald).
