Cloud 9 DECIMATED by Gravity because..... (ALSO GAME PLAY BALANCE)

Lack of counter-play on assassins. At the moment, Kassadin is very powerful but has a scaling mana ultimate gap closer/initiation/escape. Zed is also very powerful (nerfed attack speed lel k whatevs) but has no such restriction on the use of his initiation/escape save that he cannot proc it as often as Kassadin. Cloud 9 was wrecked from champ select. Mind you, Orianna is a TRASH tier pick by Hai. The mana thirst ESPECIALLY since the season 5 changes make it impossible for her to be of any real use as anything other than a utility mid-support pick unless she gets fed early.

There was a small window for Cloud 9 to go very tanky with their picks, or even work on a QSS ADC or blue EZ Zhonyas bot lane, but there was no doubt in my mind once I saw the team comps. Cloud 9 stood no chance, and as long as assassins are given so much mobility and so much damage with virtually no counter play - AND - so-called tanks and bruisers are virtually impotent in their use in said situations, I wouldn't be surprised to see more heavy-dive assassin comps moving forward.

TSM forever.

My two cents.

Then why didn't they pick/ban the assassins themselves?

Not to take away from Keane's brilliant performance on Zed, but Gravity won that game because stvicious was HYPER aggresive on Vi. Any time he could initiate on c9 and ult sneaky's kog, he took it, and then some. By taking Kog's hyper carry potential out of the fight for so much time, you completely pick apart the "protect the Kog" type of comp that c9 had somewhat built.
