New requirement - 1,000 wins in normal blinds or draft before being allowed to play ranked.

Title. Agree/disagree? Discuss.

Edit: Completely did not mean 1,000 wins. I absolutely meant 1,000 GAMES played. That's a huge mistake. I understand a lot more of the downvotes now. I still expect them, but I believe 1,000 GAMES played is reasonable.

Wins don't reflect the skills or abilities of the individual player. Instead, it would make normals have more people throwing hate because they need to reach 1000 wins before they can start to play ranked. Trolls would be more successful, flamers would just flame more, and the casual player would be locked off from a large amount of the game for a long period of time. Your idea does not accomplish anything that would be viewed as positive for the community.

Yes, lets make people have spent thousands of hours on the game before theyre even allowed to try the main thing. Such great idea.

OP, you've got less wins that your suggestion. If lolking is right, you've only won 363 5v5 normal games.

If you played two games a day and maintained a 50% win rate, it would take you 3 years to qualify for ranked.

I kind of agree but 1,000 games is still a lot (whether they are only wins or just games in general). I think people do need a better understanding of how the game works before playing Ranked. When I first got to level 30, I jumped into ranked and played 8 matches and only won 1. I did not have map awareness, skill, knowledge (about items, champions, masteries), I didn't think runes mattered, could not CS, barely warded and could only play around 5 champions decently at the time. I definitely did not have a good experience with ranked because people obviously didn't want to play with someone with me (which is understandable). I didn't play ranked anymore (this was during season 3). I spend the rest of the year, plus the first half of season 4, learning League more. I went back into ranked towards the end of Season 4 and was placed in Bronze. I played a lot of matches and learned a lot during that time and did eventually make is to silver (I know it's still not that good).

I think players do need more knowledge about useful things like map awareness, knowledge about items and champions and can play a decent amount of champions. Fortunately, they can learn from playing ranked matches, which is unfortunate for people that do know how to play, even if they are at bronze level.

I do believe there should be some form of "test" before queuing up for ranked. Something a long the lines of an "Advanced Tutorial". Where you take one champion into the Fields of Justice and have to be able to do the following during the game.

  1. Get at least 80 CS in the first 10 minutes. You can use items, masteries, abilities and runes to accomplish this.
  • To show that you know how to last hit and can accumulate a decent creep score when uncontested.
  1. Place at least 9 wards in the first 20 minutes to simulate keeping vision for your lane. -To show that you know how to work with your Jungler as well as keep an eye out for possible enemy Junglers or roaming ganks.

  2. Demonstrate proper usage of Enemies Missing, Requires Assistance and Targeting Pings at different check points in the game. -To show that you know how to properly communicate with your team in a way that is objective and informative.

  3. Avoid dying more than 6 times throughout the course of the entire game. -To show that you know how to protect yourself, play safely when needed and otherwise not constantly feed the enemy team.

I know I would love to have this kind of system in place for players like myself. As I need help mastering all 4 of these mechanics.

People can downvote without posting, but that's pretty much just supporting my argument. People too lazy to put in the work to actually create a point. Kind of like putting in the work to be knowledgable enough for ranked.

1000 games? Sorry but not all of us are 16 and live at our parents house. Little asshole.

Still made it to Gold without playing 1000 games so fuuuuuck you.

You're aware that normals have their own MMR, right? People in normals don't magically play with pros and soak up all their knowledge and skill. Playing more does not necessarily equate to getting better.
