TSM’s Big Mistake Was Made 6 Month’s Ago

How cocky can a team (owner) be? DL decides to sit out the spring split, missing practice time and games with the team overall that could have built some better synergy to prepare this team more for international play. They are successful with Wild Turtle for the split, then bring back the quitter for the summer split? They struggle (as expected).

Sure, They were giving (won) the split anyway, but how can we expect a team to be successful among the best teams in the world with a quitting (I need a break) ADC, then re adds the obviously so dedicated to the team ADC back for the summer split?

The team has a toxic and cocky mentality that begins with Reginald and has become the personality of the team. I know it’s not always the case, but when you just let people leave your time and come back to play when they feel like it, you probably aren’t gonna have the best team synergy.

Am I overreacting here? I just feel like that whole thing was stupid and gave this team a faulty mindset.

They should have kept Wild turtle

The issue was, WT is a chill dude. You can see in videos he isn't aggressive, controlling, or the person to start blaming other. Watching videos of WT in TSM, you see Reggi always picked on him for mistake that WT was not a part of. Xspecial would always be the one to stand up. Surprise surprise, both of these players got kicked out

So DL likely shittalked his way into ADC role laughing at WT publicly.

I'm glad TSM lost 2 years in a role with DL. Clg couldn't keep in knowing how he acts (tilts, ego) and kicked him up. They have been better since

HIs attitude might not be aggressive but his plays are and incredibly reckless. Always caught out and always flashes in for kills to die. They even said with WT after he went to FlyQ that he might fit in better there because that team is aggressive and always forward so WT cant be "caught out" like he always is if the entire team is caught out with him

At least DL was playing. Sven literally could have stood in a bush walked away from the keyboard and it would not have changed his score.... because that is literally all he did.

DoubleLift wasn't a quitter so much, he was completely burnt out at that point. Burn out does happen. Needing a break does happen.

As for wildturtle, it's impossible to know if he would have done much better at worlds.

DL is still better than Wilfturle who makes stupid plays like flash in for a kill vs 3 ppl only to instantly die after. DL also provides some shotcalling while WT is a huge liability. When it came to the decision which ADC to take it was a no brainer

That's not really true tho

TSM has been successful with both DL and WT.

You say WT has a tendency to play aggressive but this entire worlds, it's DL who has done that to the point he lost nearly all his bot lane match up. I'd argue that if you are losing your lane so bad, you just attract every roamer laner to come and kill you since you are losing. That's what DL did for TSM this worlds

You can argue WT > DL or DL>WT but WT is definitely a better player internationally. At NA region, it has been shown and proven that TSM will win with either ADC players

I disagree with both of them at this point. BUT WT is willing to stepdown for the team I think. I think he would play utility etc when needed and just let Bjerg try to carry. DL probably would not admit that he can't carry.

BUT DL was playing better than most of NA! Yea it was terrible, but at least he was playing. Seriously? Sven was playing like Sim City and watching disasters steal his jungle camps, and Bjerg was playing minecraft solo mode. DL was not good, but the team needed to challenge and push for the win, not wait for mistakes.

Nah. I don’t support that. If you’re serious and passionate about the game, you don’t get burnt out. If you want to be competetive on a World’s stage, you don’t get burnt out and “take a break”

From what i saw during the years, TSM (and most of western teams) are dedicated only to their region meta rather than developing more viable strategies and play style even with champions outside the meta in place.

Far Eastern teams do so and force the enemies into playing their game and that's the main issue which brings NA and EU on their knees when facing them. TSM is just really extremist in doing so.

Normally I'd say yes but this entire split they bragged on air interviews about how they aren't playing picks just to win but diversify their picks and strategies. Hell, one of the opening interviews in worlds in week one was about that form bjerg

So that excuse is gone! This was not a meta related loss. This is an ADC meta that a team like TSM should thrive on. They got beat in lane. Their jungler performed as he always does but it's noticeable when all your lanes are losing.

Well, they didn't really show many offmeta picks either, they just went on bragging (something I couldn't care less especially because I don't follow interviews, just matches) and lost as they always did. My statement is that TSM (and to a lesser degree all the western teams) fail to do something more than playing the game as it comes.
