Oh, I'm really expecting Worlds to come down to Fnatic vs SKT right now. And I favor Fnatic in that matchup.

But, well, I'm already not getting Championship Riven. We'll see.

Do you have them beating EDG or KT in the semis? (Assuming KT ends up on their side of the bracket and Fnatic isn't on SKT's side)

honeslty, i don't think CLG belongs in the quarter-finals. They are sooooooooooo slow and very rarely do they punish mistakes. I'm still wondering to which dark god did they pray to get placed in that group.

Other than that, i agree with you. C9 is playing amazing and will only grow from this point onward

i'm not denying that. In fact, i believe they're a very good team. But think like this: are they one of the top 8 teams in the world?

Take group D, for instance: LGD, origen and KT are better teams than CLG, but one of them won't get out of groups.

LDG being better than CLG on this patch at least is questionable.

To me they look like a bottom 4 team at worlds right now, every single game they've looked quite weak and they've only looked at all competitive VS TSM.

I think the difference between CLG and the other teams that are likely to get into the quarters is that you could swap CLG into a different group with respect to their seeding and they'd struggle.

The only other team who'd share this distinction would be C9, but when you're 3rd seed that can happen, first seed should theoretically protect against this.

They're in an easy group because they were #1 in their region so they don't have to fight against another #1 team. But yeah, they're lucky with the drafts from pool 2 and 3. Having a wildcard in your group is always a relief.

Imagine if they got something like OG/EDG/insert 3rd seed. They'd probably not go through that group.

Yeah, I said that they're lucky with the drafts from both pool 2 and 3. The last sentence was just a general statement that I thought was appropriate here. Anyways, may I add that Origen is doing a lot better than what was predicted of them. If, in a different universe, OG was in group A and they (for some reason) didn't perform that well, people would just say the same as they currently say about koo and flash wolves (koo was predicted to do slightly better and flash wolves worse but both of these teams performed worse than they were predicted to do, although koo has been making up for that). But yeah, I think Origen would still win vs CLG, seeing their current performance.

I definitely think this groups stage prediction is a good prediction. C9 have come out super strong and Origen's team fights have looked great. I think there's a chance they don't make it if maybe IG/AHQ underestimated C9 and prep much better next week, and LGD turns it around to play like they did in playoffs, but I doubt that happens (really hope they both make it). However, I'm not sure about the finals assertion. EDG and SKT are going to end up on opposite sides of the bracket, and depending on first place draws (assuming CLG takes first there would be two western teams as 1 seeds w/ this, maybe 3 but I'd be surprised if Origen drops KT bc they look really good right now) there is either a 50% or 100% chance a western team has EDG in the quarters and the same for SKT. Which ever side KT ends up on will have a double hurdle (KT and EDG or KT and SKT) for western teams unless by some miracle KT draws EDG in the quarters. W/ the collapse of LGD I think EDG vs SKT is probably a lock for the finals w/ a decent chance that it is KT vs SKT in the finals.

I think this is the first time that an all western final is actually a possibility. That's not to say it will happen, but all 4 of the teams you mentioned have shown that they can take down strong eastern teams.
