Just keep in mind, these 5 players and the coach really only played one full split and Worlds together.
Spring consisted of Balls, Rush, Jensen, Sneaky, and Bunny/Smoothie rotating with Lemonnation as the coach.
They replaced Balls with Impact, and Bunny stepped down as a Support, so Smoothie got locked in. Because they decided on two imported players, Jensen and Impact, C9 had to put Rush on the C9C team and since Meteos was still on the roster they decided to put him in as a starter. Then they hired Reapered as coach. I think we can all agree that this roster is an upgrade from the Spring roster.
I bet they will look solid next Spring. Towards the end of Summer Split, and even a couple of times during Worlds, we have seen they have a high ceiling. Jensen can body fools. Impact can 1v2 like a boss. Sneaky pops off here and there. Meteos and Smoothie's main jobs are to enable these three players, and when they succeed it is a beautiful thing. The problem is that these two players are the least consistent, in my opinion. I think Smoothie needs more confidence. I can't say the same about Meteos.
Worlds so far seems to be much more Jungle focused. Meteos just seems out-classed in this pool of Junglers. Look at the players in that position that are in the Quarterfinals: bengi/Blank, mlxg, Peanut, Clearlove, Jankos, PvPStejos, Ambition, and Meteos. There are couple of clear tiers in this position, and Meteos is in the lower one.
I could see them getting a new Jungler. I could also see them keeping the roster the same, having a full off-season of training together, and coming back strong for next year. I will root for them either way.
