League Pacifist Ending: IMT vs DIG Game 1
7 kills to 4 kills, 5 to 4 up until the last 30 seconds. League of Legends, a new way to win.
A new meta?

A way to win Korea has used for ages now? I have not watched the IMT vs DIG game, so I don't know if it depends on team just playing bad or being afraid to make moves (P.S It seems to be the case looking at comments about the game on reddit), but Korea has made his fortune on their methodical way to play League, winning by take objective with the minimal risks involved slowly choking enemy teams
IMT did exactly what they needed to. If Dignitas wasn't going to fight, IMT didn't really need to take a risk.
Rito makes massive changes to both laning (removing lane swaps, trying to increase damage on characters), yet the result is still the same (very "cautious" games). Starting to think that their plan failed.
Various things went through my mind this game. Was this Undertale Pacifist mode with an end game slip up? Is this what a 25 minute sleeper hold feels like? Realistically though, IMT played to the right tempo despite it being slow and what looked like it could have ended sooner. DIG on the other hand tapped into Jin Air levels of desperation. And if that right team fight happened, chances are they would blow right back into the game being that late. Either way it was really funny for that entire late game to play out like that.
Some teams/games are much slower than others. IMT would get decent leads in those 2 games and instead of just going all General Custer on them they used what I call the "push - pull system" Immortals would move together on each side of the map securing each side with wards, taking Dig's camps, pushing each lane to Dig's base, and when certain objectives are up you take those with very little contest because you already have a decent lead and those certain sides of the map are deeply warded. Once you have a good enough lead to finish the game by 20 mins you actually want to starve out the enemy team by taking everything for about 5-10 mins longer, yes it stalls out the game and makes it less "fun" to watch or play but it is a safe way to win games. Some people call that being smart I think, not sure.
Those games happen sometimes. They suck, but basically any esport/sport of any kind has boring games every once in a while. I still remember the Dyrus/Quas Sion/Malphite game from a few seasons ago where neither of them ulted except to escape, ending in about 6 total kills for the game.
