Getting real tired of people complaining about champ select

IncrediPhiLL·10/15/2018, 3:37:17 PM·11 votes·9,316 views

I've seen several discussions posted on this board of people complaining about champion diversity at this worlds... I just don't see how anyone can logically complain about the champ diversity...

I feel like the Champ diversity at this Worlds is far and away better than any other worlds. So many pocket picks and surprise picks coming out. Sure, we have a few champs that are mega high priority (Aatrox and Urgot), but I feel like the pick diversity has been great so far. No other lane in the game except for top is a sure thing... and even that has a few discrepancies now and again.

Diverse? Where is the soraka top? Where is disco nunu? They all seem like they're drafting to win... Disgusting!

By far the most interesring and fun worlds i've seen since season 3. Every vitality and C9 game is a complete chaos (in a good way) and filled with unique picks.

This actually has been a pretty diverse worlds, though Urgot is clearly approaching Urgod status. But the fact that c9 can bring out the ignite hecarim top as a counter and not just lose because hecarim isn't allowed to be good is a good sign

According to Blaustoise, this worlds has statistically been the most diverse thus far

People are complaining about champion picks every single year. They expect to see fiesta a la G2 vs FW game today (the first one), because they are used to random streamers doing dumb shit in soloq. You gotta realize, that most of the viewerbase are bronze/silver/gold players, who really don't have that much of a knowledge about the game (I'm not saying, that every player in this elo range has no knowledge - some people can have tactical understanding but lack mechanical skill to get higher), so they fail to understand, why pros tend to pick these and not other champions, and what purpose do they serve. The "worlds are boring this year because of meta champions" threads are usual occurence during this time of the year.

This has been one of the most, if not the most, exciting worlds group stage ever and people are still finding something to complain about.

I agree but now we're getting to the point of people complaining about people complaining.

Thats incredibly redundant.

I always bring up patches 8.11 through 8.14 because that was when things competitive were the most unpredictable since Season 3 and potentially beyond. I feel like most people who have grieved since that have forgotten or never acknowledged that period

I think what OP is trying to say is Brand bot lane carry.

The problem is that except for the new and reworked champions it's all the same champions from previous worlds. There are just so many champions that Riot doesn't allow to be played on the worlds stage

Garen Yorick get nerfed fairly recently before worlds after Yorick had just barely seen a few games on the pro scene.

These champions never get picked in worlds competition. Illaoi MasterYi Nasus Rammus Sona Tryndamere Udyr Vi Warwick Volibear MonkeyKing Xerath Teemo Lux Annie

I know maybe some of them were played at some point. I remember Wolf played Sona at some point for SKT last year. I have only been watching worlds since 2015 so I don't know if any of those champs were contestable picks in previous worlds but for the most part these champions have NEVER been viable. I understand that with 140 champions not every champion can be viable, however, over the years if one champion is neglected over and over again my personal opinion is that something needs to be done about that. I mean at some point every champion should have at least 1 win at worlds IMHO.

if only riot made LCS teams not to be able to play the same champ over again for Bo3 or Bo5 games it would be a lot more exciting, enough to watch worlds, not for the missions.
