So, the summer season is upon us and competitive games for major regions finally start again this week. Starting off on Tuesday, LCK will start again and I can say I'm pretty hyped to see all the new possibilities that can happen. With the meta being so shaked up, jungle changes, bottom lane changes, possibilities for assassins and carry top laners, it feels like it will be a different meta to what Spring season brought upon us, with all the stupid shit like Sion mid, Ornn, Galio and Ezreal.

I'd like to make some ranking predictions. I believe SKT will bounce back, carrying on their strong showing towards the end of the split and finish in the top 3 of the standings in the regular season. I think KZ will retain their first place, despite their unsteady showing at MSI, since I believe that their losses were more because they disrespected their enemies (Khan's plays for example) than anything else. I still believe they are the best team in the world right now.

Second place I believe will be taken by AFs. Their secondary ADC, Aiming, is now back from that technical suspension, and I believe he is a very good option to strengthen their roster. KT Rolster is a weird thing right now. They have no consistency. They are overall a strong team with strong potential, but their instability and incosistency will cost them a good place this time around. I don't think they will be able to overttake SKT, AFs or KZ. As for the rebranded SSG to KSV and now GenG, I believe their slump will continue. The things that made them strong enough last year to get them to a World championship are not there anymore, so their regular split won't be impressive. I do think they will have a better showing at Playoffs though, and seeing how they will be in 5th place, behind KT, they will beat KT in the Wildcard match.

I do think that the promoted Griffin will have a good showing, definitely staying in the league for the next split. I also expect JAG to do well, maybe even stealing the 5th spot away from GenG, if they continue on the same performance as Spring. The rebranded ROX Tigers into HLE will also stay in this League for the next split, but I don't expect much more than 7th place.

This is my prediction for the standings after the regular period is over:

  1. KingZone
  2. SKT
  3. AFs
  4. KT
  5. GenG
  6. JAG
  7. HLE
  8. Griffin
  9. MVP
  10. BBQ

For the Playoffs, GenG will defeat KT, and afterwards, AFs will beat GenG, SKT will beat AFs, and finally, just like last year, KZ will beat SKT.

Of course, it's still very very early to make solid predictions. We don't even know what the meta will turn out to be or how strong the teams will be. A very thrilling season to watch, though, and I can't wait.
