C9 Simply Doesn't Care

I think it's pretty obvious that C9 doesn't care about the summer/spring split. I think it's understood that TSM will win every single split from this point on as long as they are the core fanbase of the league. I think C9 just simply waddles into worlds (because no one can stop them from getting there) and just turns it on and outperforms every NA team. I don't think it's a coincidence that C9 continually loses splits and still shows up as the best NA team at worlds. They easily move from the gauntlet to get there if they must.

They seem to have a mentality during the splits of "whatever." As a C9 fan, that has become my mentality too. We know TSM can't lose a split, but we know we'll show up at worlds. Listening to C9 players talk about Splits in interviews and in their streams, they simply don't seem to care.

Reaper's coaching style definitely has an I Don't Care mentality. His sub choices and his demeanor in the C9 series videos is very passive. I think he has the team playing for worlds... not for splits. Hide the true talents until the world's stage. It's an interesting strategy.
