Will C9 beat WE?

Unlikely, WE stomped MSF, TSM, and FW; looking very good in all of their games except 1. We mid laner is at least equal to Jensen, the WE bot lane is better, the top lane could go either way (but likely to be tank v tank), and jungle is likely WE favored. Overall it looks like WE is better throughout the entire game and has equal or better players everywhere.

That said MSF improved a lot and it is possible that C9 will improve their weaknesses. Plus this has been an unpredictable group stage overall with far more parity than most people expected. The question is if people overhyped how good SKT would be just because they are SKT, and LZ because they saw LCK playoffs and ignored the LCK season where LZ and samsong were equals.

C9 winning would be an upset I would predict only a 25% chance for C9 to win. I hope they win because I would love to have a western team get into the semi finals( also be the first time an NA would make it into the semis). I feel like to win they need to play their style of having pressure in the jungle with a strong mid lane champion (so I guess their style).

Pretty much this. WE should win the series handily. C9 has little chance (probably get a single game). WE 3-1 C9

Any upset it possible. We almost saw SKT lose to a team that was in the Challenger Series last year.

Will they? Maybe. It's impossible to know for sure. Can they? Yes.

I don't know enough about WE to make a call, but I will say that C9 has looked exceptionally strong in the jungle / bot lane, and has arguably one of the best mid laners in the world.

I feel like if they can play around sneaky or jensen properly, we could see them in the semifinals.

WE placed #3 in the LPL. People still considered them the best Chinese team because of how dominant they were near the end.

They were able to beat both TSM and MSF. Im not sure if C9 can beat them. Personally, I think C9 has a decent chance 40/60

This meta really favors ADC composition. Something the LPL teams have embraced more than any region this year. C9 has never played around their ADC. The question is, will Contracts and Jensen be strong enough to beat the mid lane while Sneaky and Smoothie withstand the bot lane focus

Bjerg and Sven could not do it. Personally, I think Sven was not aggressive enough and Bjerg played too passive allowing the roams to bot lane to happen. C9 did much better when this happened against EDG, in a comp with J4+Galio.

I think they need to keep Contratz on a leash during pick-bans. He's got to let their top laner pick Shen in the first 3 picks or it'll be impossible for them to run the comps they want to.

SKT has been playing like garbage for the last 6 months. And even at this tournament they haven't looked that good, they just pull wins out of their ass because teams get too over eager vs them.

This is the weakest SKT have been but still no way they are playing like garbage. They are well prepared and can only be surprised one or twice, they learn quickly, adapt and come back

Good teams pull out games they shouldn't. Bad teams find a way to lose games they shouldn't.

"SKT has been playing like garbage for the last 6 months." False. SKT was looking great in Spring and at MSI, which was 6 months ago. Not until Rift Rivals and after during Summer (about beginning of August until now) have they looked less their previous form. Just the last 3 months.

Even at MSI they looked sloppy though. So either teams are a catching up in prowess, or they are losing their touch. Nice try though.

I hope so. At this point my pick'em is screwed anyways.

The best reason to think C9 can is because WE is the 3rd best chinese team and C9 was able to take a game away from EDG. They could have taken both games but they let EDG get both J4 and Galio while not picking shen before he was banned.
