@Riot Client settings, 720p vs 1080p

I was watching Riot's LPL stream last night and the rest of it today and I couldn't help but notice the poor quality. So I found the Chinese stream which I found much easier to watch. So I compared the two and realized that Riot has their clients are set to 720p rather than 1080p. While streaming and setting the game both to 720p reduces the compression artifacts and makes the image quality slightly more clear, the size of the HP bars take up a lot more room. This obscured quite a bit of the action making it difficult to see what's going on in a team fight.

This is also just a general issue with in game clarity when you're using a resolution below 1080p

Besides that, I also feel the OGN/LPL has better camera operators with better intuition for the game and smaller overlays making it easier to see what's going on. Specifically for the LPL the casters generally seem happy and excited to watch the games and laugh at the different plays while the Riot broadcasters seemed bored and generally trying to act excited. Then, of course, the Riot stream had cuts and pauses due to connectivity issues.

The positive to Riot's stream was a higher colour saturation and the picture quality was more clear. Probably due to setting the client to 720p. But the clearer picture quality meant nothing when I couldn't see what was going on due to giant HP bars.

Edit: It's also easier to read the minimap when the client is set to 1080p.
