Worlds 2016 Power Rankings

Disclaimer: This is totally based off my own personal opinion. This list may be biased, and you are free to disagree with my reasoning.

  1. ROX Tigers - the winner of LCK. They've just had a dominant summer split and looked world class all throughout the season and playoffs. GorillA and Peanut are probably the best support/jg in the world, while PraY and Smeb are in contention for best adc/top respectively. Even KurO is one of the better mids at worlds and does well with limited resources.
  2. Edward Gaming - they, too had a dominant summer split. They seemed to falter a bit towards the end, which is why I put them under ROX. Scout seems to be replacing Pawn quite well, and Deft still can hard carry the team on his back. Clearlove is still a top class jungler, and while Meiko does seem to make mistakes sometimes, he has more upside than GorillA, who imo has a less flashy but reliable style.
  3. SK Telecom - SKT had a good summer split, but not for their own standards. Getting reverse sweeped by KT was a mixture of bad luck and misplays, and I honestly believe that series was a bit of a fluke. I still believe that SKT is top 2 in Korea, even though their cross map play was suspect at times. Faker, while not a mechanical god anymore, is still the most versatile mid in the world, being able to play any champ/style besides Malzahar (he's not really good at that imo). I also think Bang is the best ADC in the world as of this moment. Even though they had their bumps in summer, SKT should still be a strong candidate to win it all.
  4. TSM - TSM looked dominant in NA, which as a region looked stronger than ever this year. They did have some embarrassing moments (losing to P1), but honestly I think TSM weren't taking that series too seriously. Hauntzer losing that hard to Impact should leave some question marks, however.
  5. G2 - EU's strongest team. They're not vacationing this time around, lol. Anyways, Zven and Mithy should be a much stronger bot lane than Emperor and Hybrid ever were. Trick is also reminiscent of last year's Reignover. Unlike at MSI, I expect G2 to advance somewhat far in this tournament.
  6. RNG - A really strong team on paper that kinda imploded in the playoffs. I think RNG is the classic case of the parts being much more than the whole, as the individual players are really good, but the macro game kinda stinks compared to the other top teams on this list.
  7. SSG - Korea's 3rd seed. Honestly, I think they're currently better than KT. Crown, imo, is definitely the most exciting mid laner to watch in Korea right now and may possibly be the best mid laner in the world. SSG's macro game is also not to shabby, though they can make mistakes sometimes.
  8. FW - The Flash Wolves are probably the weakest #1 seed. That being said, they're nothing to look down upon, as Maple is one of the best mids in the world and Karsa is in the argument for best jungle as well. On the other hand, their weaknesses are clear - a somewhat bad early game and reliance on the aforementioned 2 to snowball and carry the game.
  9. C9 - While they may be NA's 3rd seed, I strongly believe that C9 are currently stronger than the 2 seed, CLG. Impact has shown time and time again that he's the best top in NA, and the rest of the team aren't slouches either. C9's macro game is also not too bad.
  10. AHQ - Westdoor, like Faker, isn't what he once was, but he's still a good mid laner. AHQ have been a staple in the Worlds scene since season 4 and have never really disappointed. Their chaotic playstyle and their excellent teamfighting should have the teams in their group a bit scared.
  11. IMAY - the "dark horse" of this tournament. I honestly didn't expect them to get to worlds, but looking at VODs of their past matches, they look fairly strong. Watch out for AmazingJ and Athena; I thought they looked fairly strong.
  12. H2K - I think Jankos is probably the 2nd best jungler in EU, while Odoamne looks solid in the top lane. However, they somehow always manage to throw games, and their macro is on and off.
  13. CLG - WTF? This low? Well, I think CLG took TL's spot for 4th best team (Liquid fans rejoice! The Curse of 4th has been broken) in NA. The bot lane is obviously CLG's strength, but Huhi's been so terrible as of late that it makes me think that mids like KurO and Perkz (considered the weak spots of their teams, respectively) can beat him by a wide margin. Darshan has also been on and off.
  14. SPY - I honestly think this ranking is a bit harsh. SPY are better than most people think - they've just been handed a terrible group. Rip 15, 16 - the international wild cards. Didn't really watch, but I'm pretty sure they'll get at most 1 or 2(if INTZ gets really lucky against AHQ and H2K) upset wins at worlds.

I like your power ranking and I agree for the most part. My own power ranking will be teams "power Levels" XD at the moment and what I think they will do during groups.

  1. ROX TIGERS. Since 2015 Worlds this team has been on a mission and apart from 1 split they achieved and lived up to the hype. I think ROX will make it to the Finals but if SKT makes it to the Finals also I'm leaning on SKT's side but against any other team I think Rox will win it.

  2. SK TELECOM T1. This team will make it to the Final 4 without a doubt in my mind it will have to be a huge disaster for them not to.

  3. EDWARD GAMING. Best jungler in the world with Clearlove in my opinion and EDG should go far this year, however it seems like each year EDG are heavy favorites to make it to the Finals but they barely make it out of groups to eventually just get eliminated in the first round for a possibly 3rd year in a row. I don't see EDG getting eliminated in the Quarters unless their against KOO or SKT if so they history(NO PUN)

  4. TEAM SOLOMID. Make it or break it time for NA, as TSM has always made it to Worlds but never had a real strategy type of game plan it was more focused around camping mid but now no more excuses for TSM if TSM doesn't make it out of groups with their lineup at the moment then NA will NEVER EVER win Worlds PERIOD.

  5. SAMSUNG GALAXY. This team this far up in my power ranking may surprise people but I think SSG will just play a very fast paced style and if they get a SMALL lead they snowball heavily however vice versa they tend to crumble with the same strategy and tend to just feed if their behind early. I do see them making it out of Groups with a tie-breaker with RNG.

  6. ROYAL NEVER GIVES UP. Similar to SKT their also in a slump and while their not heavy favorites to win Worlds they still have 3 of the top 20 players on their team(Looper,Mata,UZI)

Need to go but I will continue later but to not leave a "cliff hanger" #TWD I will list the other teams real fast 7. G2 ESPORTS 8. CLOUD 9 9. IMAY 10. COUNTER LOGIC GAMING 11. FLASH WOLVES 12. H2K 13. AHQ ESPORTS 14. SPLYCE

Pretty much agree, but think SKT is probably better than EDG.

Also, I think you placed G2 a little too high. And underestimated the LMS as well.

Other than that, I agree.
