Predictions for Summer Split Awards

I know RIOT posted an article about a week or so back about this, but I wanted to hear some updated predictions about who you think will win Split awards. I think most of these awards should be pretty cut and draw, but we have had some things that simply make no sense in the past. Here goes mine.

ALL NA TEAM 1 (WHO IT SHOULD BE) Top: Ssumday Jg: Xmithie Mid: Jenson ADC: Cody Sun Sup: Smoothie

Really no argument for any of these. I can see Olleh as a possibility for sup, but Smoothie has been doing it pretty much all year. Olleh has simply turned it on at the the end of the year.

MVP: Jenson. No one else can really make a play. Xmithie as a clear runner up, but he hasn't been as dominant in his role as Jenson. He's far an away in front of everyone statistically and continually claps any other midlaner, including two solokills against the next best mid laner in the league. It's a pretty obvious choice.

COACH OF THE SPLIT: SSONG

Again, pretty cut and dry.

I don't think all of these will be correct. An all NA team and MVP that doesn't glorify TSM seems like a prediction too bold to make. TSM might just sweep the all NA team and get MVP and Coach to boot. We'll see.

What are some of your predictions?

Just realized I've been spelling Jensen wrong this whole time XD

I will continue to argue against Jensen as MVP. I don't see most valuable as being determined solely by stats. They help determine some quality, but if you get nice stats and a lead to win your lane and do nothing to help top, bot, or secure neutral objectives, your value is limited. Jensen never helped a top lane which has struggled all year, or a bot lane which was often underperforming for the first half of the split.

MVP should be LirA. The 1v9 meme was loaded with truth and this guy dragged a team into a playoff spot which without him would likely be in relegation. That is MVP material.

My personal list 1st Team Top - Darshan Jng - Xmithie Mid - Jensen Adc - Cody Sup - Olleh

MVP - Xmithie I personally have counted out IMT/Xmithie 1 too many, " They are who we thought they were" and I'm done counting them out, are they going to win the Finals or make it IDK but for the regular split IMT are the real deal and Xmithie at times really showed why he should be named MVP.

I would argue that Jenson earning a lead and his team choosing to fight around him because of his consistent leads is very valuable.

Either way, saying he doesn't impact other lanes thus is not valuable and then turning around and arguing for Xmithie doesn't make much sense considering Jenson has a higher KP than Xmithie by nearly 10%.

And I don't put much salt into damage numbers. It's too finicky depending on which champion you play. When Jenson is spending the bulk of his time playing Ori, he won't put out huge damage numbers until pretty late in the game... C9 games haven't really been going late, this means the damage odds are kind of stacked against him. Especially when the early meta in the split favored high damage junglers and top Laners.

Either way, it's hard to argue against his lanning stats (highest CS in the league), his KDA (way highest in the league), and most importantly, his KP (a stat which literally tells us how much you help your team), which is the highest in the league. That's value in every single area of the game. Individually and team.

It will likely be another Bjergsen circle jerk fest as usual. I think Jensen should win it personally. He's been an absolute force in the mid lane. Can't even think of a time when the dude got beat hard in lane pretty much never happens. His team definitely plays around him they ward up the middle area for him all the time so he can play aggressive and smash the lane and he always delivers.

The guy plays his style and does it better than anybody. His style is to play smart/safe and not take huge risks and always be relevant for the team fighting and he 100% does that every single game perfectly. He's done that with a struggling top lane all split and a inconsistent jungle and a relatively solid bot lane imo. People always talk about Bjergsen but he has basically the best teammates around him at many positions. He's good sure but everytime he's had bad teammates he's been absolutely smashed at worlds and international tournaments. That's one of the reasons I'm not huge on the Bjergsen hype train.

Most of the stuff you say are detractors from Jensen winning it are stylistic choices his team makes. C9 has not had a strong early game typically and it's one of the thing they always say they are working on trying to improve. He has weaker early game stats because his team doesn't play that way they wait for the team fights and then they smash people and Jensen does it extremely well.

I think it will be ridiculously close between Jensen or Xmithie. Still not sure who will get it.

I hate how people keep counting Olleh out tho. He's legit hard carrying Imt some games. I don't think people appreciate how much he does for his team

Fair picks.
