[Esports] Lets talk about NA switching back to Bo1.

TLDR of the Riot Article is because it's effecting viewers, they are losing them because there are so many games. Like people tune in for the good games and never watch the Fox vs TL games. They think cutting down the games so you only have to watch 1 shit game instead of 3 will increase the viewership for worst teams.

While right, it will increase the viewership of a Fox game if it's between TSM v C9 and CLG v IMT, is it really worth it for the 4 teams I just said? They lose so many practice stage time games, so they can compete on the international stage. I honestly wish they would just run rebroadcasts through out the whole week and advertise their VoDs a lil bit more. I'ma miss being able to spend my free time over the weeks, between games of League or real life priorities watching the good Bo3s. Ya I may or may not go watch Fox or TL unless their playing team's I'd like to watch, sometimes I do if I have time, sometimes I won't if I don't have time. That ideal shouldn't effect good teams abilities to get more practice for the real games come MSI, RR, and Worlds.

Honestly, now I will end up watching that TL v Fox game, so Riot will get my viewership on crap games, but that's only because I want to watch the LCS to begin with, not because I care about those teams. Now we will watch our region fall back into the worst region after finally moving up over the LMS and EU. I will also now have to start keeping up more with the LCK and LPL so I have more League to fill my cravings. I'd rather watch NA, but I spose watching the regions who are going to just stomp on us will have to do.

Also sidenote, think about how much luck will play into it. TSM in spring lost dam near all of their 1st games to go on and win the 2nd and 3rd. TSM might not of even made play-offs if it had been Bo1.

I personally hate it. You learn very little about the teams in Bo1 formats, you don't get to see adjustments between games or how a team handles being down a game. Bo1's also get heavily effected by 'cheese' strats because you only have to win that single game which kind of sucks.

If I wasn't watching the TL games before, this won't make me change anything. I'll watch the LCS to watch good teams play, not just to watch games. I could spend the time during that TL loss to watch an SKT or other LCK game vod if I really want to analyze a game. I don't really get to pick up anything from watching TL limp to a 25 minute loss. Also I don't personally have anything against TL as a team, I just want to watch good games and last split they didn't offer a whole lot of that.

I can see why they made this choice, but I'm definitely not a fan. I much prefer Bo3 or Bo5 formats because we get to see who the really good teams / coaches / staffs are.
