I feel like this would help stop the extreme snowballing of this game

Simply add base Armor and MR to most champions so they don't just explode early game.

I think its pretty clear at this point, that Riot does not want longer games.

the number 1 factor of snowballing right now is bot lane due to cheap itemization and high potential for gold generation (champion first blood possibly a double kill, into turret first blood). what really needs to happen to slow down snowballing in this game:

item 3031 item 3508 price increases 100 gold. (3500)

item 3086 combine cost increase 100 gold. (1300)

item 3087 item 3094 item 3085 price increases 300 gold. (2900)

item 3046 price increase 300 to 400 gold. (3000)

but we all know marksmen are just going to jump to the next cheapest builds to cheese themselves an early power spike, which is lethality. crit builds would just become "troll builds" and ad caster marksmen and lethality stacking marksmen builds would become meta over crit stacking marksmen again. so we also do this:

item 3147 combine cost increase by 300 gold. (3200) item 3142 combine cost increase by 100 gold. (3000) item 3814 combine cost increase by 100 gold. (3200)

melee ad assassins get lethality scalings added to their kits. so the items become more expensive and take longer to finish, but the cost increase is compensated for them by also making the items more slot effective for their intended users. instead of doing the usual thing of increasing an item cost and slapping 10 ad to compensate on it, we do things like:

//disclaimer: _these are just general examples of what could be done by adding lethality scalings to assassin kits. theyre just concepts and not 100% correct numbers. theyre just proof of concept. _

Talon gets a 1.0 lethality scaling added to the heal on his q Zed gets a 1.0 lethality scaling added to the base damage of his ult (or his passive?) Kayn assassin kayn gets lethality scalings added to his movement speed buff and heal on his e Rengar gets 1.0 lethality scaling added to the damage of his bola Khazix gets 1.0 lethality scaling to his isolation damage

and others that i might have missed.

just generally increase price and effectiveness of lethality items on their intended users, and make them relative more expensive and difficult for marksmen to pick up.

this should prevent marksmen from flipping between lethality and crit itemization like a switch, depending on which of the two makes them power spike earlier in the game at the time.

edit.: we all know the easiest way to deal with lethality marksmen would be to make duskblade melee only, but since riot has been stubborn with limiting items to melee champions, we do the equivalent to Xayah crit scaling on her e, and put lethality scalings in melee assassin kits to make the items relative more effective for them despite allowing melee and ranged to pick them up.

Base stats were tweaked before preseason released. Perhaps, if people stopped doubling down on Dmg runes and took some defensive ones they wouldn't "blow up" as easily.

How about you go resolve secondary and get your resistances from that rune? I always take it and I feel so much more safer and I generally play better with these. There is no need to go greedy double damage runes when you can't snowball yourself.

Which champions do you give more armor and magic resist to then? You'd have to completely ignore ADCs since any base defensive stats added make them significantly stronger.

Not as simple as you think because then early dominant champions will ALWAYS be out-matched by hard scaling champions because of easier early game due to the idea of having resistances buffed early on.
